The best product for the job AND available at the best price
This review is written for both the Mercury Verado Lifting Adapter (part AMT0024) and the Universal Lifting Ring (part AMT0022)(total price was $144)The Mercury Verado Lifting Adapter disc itself is about 6-inches in diameter and is machined from some form of paramagnetic steel. The Lifting Ring thread size is 1.5” x16 which should fit the earlier Mercury outboards with threaded flywheels without the need for additional adapters. With respect to both components, the machining quality is excellent, and the finish quality is high for tool-grade products.Appropriate mounting hardware is included. The official Mercury product includes the instructions to torque the attachment bolts to 15 to 20 foot-pounds.The official Mercury counterpart (91-895343T02) has the same lifting capacity of 1000 pounds and includes the flywheel removal tool, but is looks more “homemade” and costs $275. Sierra brands also offers a similar product (18-9897) which appears even more “rustic” and starts at $233.A Marine Tech Tool Mercury Flywheel Puller (AMT0023) is also available for $47 but is not being evaluated at this time. The official Mercury counterpart (91-849154T1) sells for $150.Unlike the official Mercury product, the Marine Tech Tool product facilitates interchanging the lifting ring with either Yamaha or Mercury adapters.

Well made, works perfectly
Works and fits perfect on my 150 4 stroke. Very well made, better than another I had looked at. Even if it's just a one-time use, still cheaper and more convenient than taking the boat to the dealer.I also purchased the matching lifting eye, and together they are a top-notch package.

Jack plate install on Verado
I bought the lift plate and ring to install a jack plate with my Verado. I was a bit nervous doing the install with such a heavy engine. The tools arrived in perfect condition and looked well made. I rented a engine hoist, cherry picker, and all went perfectly. Couldn't be happier. I could have paid the dealer to do it, but generally if I can buy a tool and do it myself I will take that route.

Best Adapter System for Mounting Mercury Outboards
I needed this lifting adapter to mount my new Mercury 90HP Four Stroke outboard motor on the transom. Older outboard motors had lifting lug on the motor head but Mercury outboard motors require adapters mounted to the flywheel for lifting or pulling the flywheel. The Marine Tech Tools adapter and lifting eye bolt is significantly less money than the Mercury OEM version and much more functional.
