Mine has been a great tool to drastically improve my workflow.
After I got my Madventure/Mi Sphere camera, it became obvious that I needed to get it out of my hand. The stock selfie stick is buggy, and far too short. I rigged up a phone mount on an old monopod, but the phone app sucks for shooting quickly. I went looking for a remote, and I was delighted to find this one. After scores of poor reviews, and a price that was too high to risk, I didn't buy this thing for weeks. My need for it increased, because I shoot many 360 images in my work, and I had gotten a longer camera stick. I finally just bit the bullet, and bought it. This turned out to be a good choice. This device has improved my camera operation drastically. I use a 2m pole to get the camera into clear areas for capture, and the operation of this remote and the camera are now very easy, and relatively quick. Cold startup of the camera and linking to the remote is about 15-20 seconds, and it's ready to shoot. It did take a few tries to get it to pair the very first time, but it's been spot-on since then.Others reviewers have complained about battery life, but after a few weeks, I'm still on the battery it came with. I'd bought a small pile of replacement CR-2032 cells for a few bucks, and I've taped two of them to my camera stick, for whenever the battery dies.I had discovered a feature by holding the side-mounted mode button down... it will shut down the remote, and the camera as well. If you shut off the camera by itself, and not the remote directly, the remote will continue to hunt for the camera. Perhaps this is why many folks have had poor battery life. *Remember to power down the remote... if you do that first, the camera will follow*Also, make sure to protect the remote's buttons when you're not using it. If something can depress any of the buttons while in your camera bag or pocket, the remote will turn on and hunt for the camera... This could be a battery killer, too.All in all, yeah, I wish it could do more, like an intervalometer function, or even simple exposure adjustments, and I wish it wasn't so pricey. But when it comes down to it, this thing has improved my workflow. I do hope it lasts, though... Take care, shoot well, shoot often! - Brian

Overpriced featureless remote control
It starts and stops recording video. It is a shutter release for photo. You can switch from Photo to Video mode. It costs $50 and is extremely overpriced. If it allowed advanced controls then price would be justified.

Mine didn't turn on, not even after a change with a new battery,
Mi remote didn't turn on even, I changed the battery for a new one and same result ! I did expect this from a generic remote but not from a Brand New Remote from same manufacture of the camera :(Stay away from this !

Why did I buy this???
You have all the same controls and more on your phone or your tablet. You cannot see your shot, adjust exposure , or any other necessary function. Also, I am selling my Madventure for one of higher quality. It is a toy.

Works perfectly and makes shooting amazingly easier.
It is worth the price just not having to use my phone to control the camera. So far, it has worked perfectly and surprisingly it also puts the camera in standby automatically which saves on camera battery. I had been using the custom Xiaomi selfie stick but that broke in the winter as the plastic is not cold tolerant and shattered on a trip to Moscow. Hopefully, the remote works longer. It also lets me use the longer 4 meter stick I have.

Great accessory! Very well thought out as far as remotes for cameras go. I would recommend it. Maybe a bit too pricey though.
