Shake It Up: Delicious cocktails inspired by the music of Taylor Swift

While I enjoy Taylor Swift’s music and occasional fruity, alcoholic beverage, I do not consider myself a Swiftie or a cocktail connoisseur. Having said that, I think this book is super fun and would make a good gift for fans of Taylor Swift, especially those who enjoy cocktails. As the title and cover state, the whole book is Taylor Swift-inspired. It starts out with some Taylor history, followed by a section with a list of things to stock your home bar. The drink recipes are mostly classics, renamed with punny names based on Taylor Swift songs. Each drink recipe includes “recommended listening” AKA the song that the drink name comes from, followed by a quirky blurb with words of inspiration or some other narrative related to… you guessed it, Taylor Swift! Overall, I think this this book provides some fun, light reading with cute, colorful pages. It serves more as TS fan memorabilia than as a good cocktail reference book. I could see it as bar cart or coffee table decor.

This book is the perfect gift for a Swiftie friend!The illustrations inside the covers and throughout are absolutely beautiful! I don't drink and the illustrations and design alone had me considering keeping this book for myself. It's chock full of TS-inspired drink recipes with fun names. This would be a beautiful bar cart cocktail book or if you wanted to get super kooky, you could frame some of the illustrated recipes.

We have a hard-core Swiftie in the family, so this book was purchased with them in mind. It's actually really a cute little hardcover book, packed full with fun recipes for cocktails that have been re-named to fit in with a Taylor Swift song or theme. In with the recipes are fun little facts, trivia, and suggested listening while drinking. Very fun to browse through, even if you won't be making the drinks. The drinks themselves are mostly standards, with slight alterations or name changes, and are easy to make with ingredients you probably have already. A spiral binding would help to make it more useful in the kitchen, but that's a minor gripe. This book would make a terrific gift for any adult Taylor Swift fan who enjoys a drink, also perfect for a Swift-themed party.

As a Swiftie, I had to get this. As not much of a drinker, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.It's definitely an interesting take on a recipe book, basing it around her songs. It's a pretty cool idea. I can't speak to how the drinks taste, I'll leave that to the other reviewers, but this is a great idea for those that love Taylor and having a good drink.

This was THE best gift! My dear friend LOVES Taylor Swift and has been dabbling in at home cocktail making and I knew this was PERFECT. So many drinks, all named after her songs or things related to her! Perfect for the Swiftie in your life who loves a fun cocktail.
