It works well as a microwave dish topper!
I'll be totally honest here that this was not a completely sober purchase. It created enormous hilarity when it arrived. Nobody knew what it was for. The packaging was solely in Japanese, which didn't help us figure it out. We named him Flat Albert, and he's adorable. The kids tried it as a frisbee but it was a flop (see what I did there?). He was a pretty terrible mask as well, due to no eye holes. I eventually decided it was a cover for a dish in the microwave to prevent splatter, and that is how we use it. It's the perfect size to cover a cereal or soup bowl. I've washed it over and over in the dishwasher with zero ill effect. No signs of staining so far. Flat Albert is a welcome addition to our home!I'm a little surprised to come review it and see pictures of it IN a pot of food boiling away, and I'm now even more confused and amused about the situation. Flat Albert, what are you for??? Why would anyone set a flat pig in a boiling pot of stew? Is it to prevent boil over? Huh. And there's multiple sizes? Maybe Flat Albert needs a buddy or partner, and maybe I need a pig tutorial to understand their use, but I have zero regrets about my purchase.

Use this SO much!
Love this piggy steamer lid (actually have two of them). Cute, works as needed and keeps the microwave clean from splatters. Rinse it off or throw it in the microwave - very handy! Seems a little pricey but it should last forever.

Useful AND cute!
These are the greatest things! (There are 2 sizes and I've bought both.) My pot lids sputter all over the cooktop and counter no matter how I try to weight them down. These let the excess steam out of the nostrils instead which is great. Many users just put chopsticks in the nostrils to lift them, but I use tongs so I can peek underneath and/or remove them. The larger one is more versatile as the small one is very small. I gave the large one as gifts this holiday because I like it so much! BTW they are dishwasher safe.

My husband's favorite kitchen item
My husband is totally captivated by his "piggy". Its main use in our house is to replace plastic wrap in the microwave. It seals the bowl just the right amount, still allowing a bit of steam to escape. Cleans like a silicone dream. But watching a grown man clap his hands because he is so pleased with his piggy is a joy!

Life-changing ;-)
I wish I'd bought this long before I did, it's so useful. It's perfect for covering a bowl of soup or other leftovers. (We use the IKEA 365+ soup bowls and it fits exactly.) It holds tight to the bowl and I've never had any spillover. I don't have to clean the microwave as often and the lid itself is very easy to clean. Before this, we were using parchment paper, and it would always blow off and leave the bowl uncovered and ready to explode food all over the microwave. One month after getting this smaller size, I ordered the larger one.

Thought I would use it more than I do.
Probably works well but it’s something that you stick in a drawer and don’t use.

Cute!
Wish it was a bit bigger in diameter. A bit too pricey.

Functional novelty gift
Does the job. Looks good when removed from the cheap novelty packaging - I paid nearly £35 which is crazy expensive, but was worth it for the smiles when I gave it as a gift.

Too small
Way too small to microwave anything. Really cute but I wasted my money.

Product is fine, but NOT Made in Japan
Bought it just because it was Made in Japan, but the product I received was Made in China, kind of disappointed. The product quality is fine and it looks cute.
