My Soul to Take

if John Hughes and John Carpenter had a baby who loved 2000s emo music and fashion, it would be this movie. and I think that's swell.it's ending is also a test trial for how Scream 4 ended, so if you wanna see Wes Craven flexing his creative muscles before making his last movie, definitely check it out.

IN THIS FILM WE FIND SEVEN TEENS WHO ARE BEING PICKED OFF ONE BY ONE THE SAME DAY SIXTEEN YEARS AGO THAT A FAMOUS SERIAL KILLER DIED. I WAS NEVER A BIG FAN OF ..........NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST.........AND ALWAYS FELT THE........SCREAM SERIES.......WAS FAR SUPERIOR. THIS IS A GREAT FLICK FOR MATURE TEENS AND ADULT HORROR FANS. NOT TOO GORY BUT PRETTY RAW. INTERESTING TOSEE THE BEGINNING OF THE CAREER OF FORREST WHITAKER’S SON DENZEL. LOOKS JUST LIKE HIS DAD, THE SUPER GREAT ACTOR AND HASTHE SAME BIG SMILE. ALTOGETHER, BY THE TIME THE DENOUEMENT ARRIVES, I.E. UNRAVELING, WE STILL DO NOT FIND OUT WHO THE HERO IS UNTIL THE LAST MOMENT. GOOD MUSIC 🎵 SCORE ALSO. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. A NICE EVENLY MATCHED CAST AND PLOT.

Not great and I mean not even close but it's ok to watch at least once because there is so much worse out there!

Finally the day has come, after long wait I could have viewed soul My to take the new of Wes Craven and from here I say to you that for nothing it is his worse movie, the critiques so mediocre that it has had in general I believe that they are due to the inefficiency of many critics who have never supported this director and always they have underestimated and relegated it to the second place in benefit of other teachers as Carpenter and Hopper. Evidently it is not a question of the better thing of Craven but, My Soul To take possesses sufficient interesting elements as for to consider it to be a minimum as a good attempt of "update" of the classic slasher, in the movie we find interesting readings to near the human condition where important mas is not in the resolution of the conflict in if,If not in the learning and the way that we have to take to come ultimately, if we could classify to every movie since to a human being of different age it would dare to say that soul My to take is a 16-year-old teenager .. with his fears and insecurities and his personality still for developing completely. Murders, dark, ritual secrets, soul My to take contains sufficient elemenos as to satisfy the real fans of the classic Slasher.

It wasn't a bad movie but I sure thought it'd be a lot scarier or creepier than it was. It really seemed more like a 80s-90s film than one from 2010. It was a decent teen slasher story with decent acting and filming but really seemed like one of those movies that should be rated lower considering it seemed like a lower budget movie instead of one made in 2010 by a big name like Wes Craven. I know my expectations were a bit higher but given those two things, I feel they weren't too high. Still I'd say to watch it because you might really enjoy it.

The Ripper goes into a mans body, causing him conflicted and trying to fight the demon that is inside of him until he starts killing his pregnant wife and others around him. after an ambulance crash into the river, his body is never to be found and 16 years later 7 kids were born the day he died, possiably reincarnated souls that he killed before. the ripper returns and takes the soul of one of the kids and one by one kills them all. The lead charector nicknamed Bug collects all the souls the ripper kills and they protect him, he is also the son that the previous person the ripper possessed. he was the miracle baby and his sister who survived that brutal night 16 years ago. Finally the kid who is possessed by the ripper is revealed. The problem with this movie is theres no great showdown towards the end, not like wes cravens other films. Its too talky and loses its entertainment value. It has an interesting idea, I think if this movie was about a supernatural entity that was creature thing like killing kids it would be more effective, instead its some val mouth serial killer in a bad suit. the condor suit looked more creepy looking than the ripper. a medicore wes craven flick with a few good ideas but lacking with unrelateable charectors & a buildup to a weak ending.

This was a good movie. To be frank, it isn't in the same caliber as "Scream"; Those expecting this movie to be like "Scream" should understand that this is essentially a supernatural B version of that movie and that it contains no superstars. Although this movie follows the same formula as "Scream", the story is a hybrid of other horror films. In-spite of the negative reviews, this movie did fulfill my expectations for a horror film. It is entertaining, creative, suspenseful, well developed, and decently acted. There is limited gore/horror. I would classify this as more of a suspenseful slasher/thriller. The characters are decently developed and the ending is wrapped up in one neat bow. Could they have made the movie better? Of course! Did they need to? No. In short, this is definitely worth a rental.

I really don't know how to tell you about this movie w/o giving things away. I can tell you if you love suspenseful horror movies where there's a group of kids being killed off one by one by someone and you can't figure out whose doing it, then this movie is for you! This is my kind of movie. Not disgusting or lewd. It was captivating! Such an interesting story line! I never knew the killer until it was revealed although I sure suspected a lot of people throughout. lol I wish they made more movies like this one. The title doesn't do it justice!

I was pleasantly surprised here. The story begins with the death of the Riverton Ripper who was apparently filled with multiple souls. When he dies the souls leave him and enter the bodies of 7 new born babies born the night of his death. 6 of the souls are good and one is evil. 16 yrs later on the anniversary of his death, the Riverton Ripper has returned, or could it be one of the youths who now have his soul?This film had been given a bad rap, and I'd read a lot of bad reviews. So I went in expecting it to be terrible and I was very pleased to find out I actually liked it. Wes Craven is a horror master and he delivers here. The film is full of thrills and some great gore. Definitely worth watching.

My Soul To Take had some pretty poisonous reviews when released, but like a lot of Wes Craven movies it is an old fashioned horror thriller film with heart. Wes cares about the characters, the build-up and the film is well paced & suspenseful. Yes, some of the dialogue rings false, & like many of Craven's films, there are cheesy elements, plus it is not as well written as Kevin Williamson's input in the Scream movies, (Wes Craven wrote this script himself). Having said all that, the movie is very entertaining & keeps you guessing to the end. Worth a second viewing as some of the initially more incoherent parts (mainly Bugs strange behaviour) and plots twists make more sense the second time round.
