Product appears to be high quality and not generic. The price is lower than in stores and saves me a trip. Hopefully these hold up and I will be purchasing going forward.

It’s high-quality, with a perfect fit, and is easy to install and use. After using it, you’ll notice it works well, removing most particles effectively. However, it doesn’t eliminate odors, so you may need a second active filter for that. But if your main concern is filtering out important particles, this is definitely a good choice.

I've been using Filtrete air filters that can filter out stuff like smoke and allergens for years, but I decided to try out these Honeywell HVAC air filters to see if I could notice any difference. In terms of performance, it's really hard to know, especially now that the main allergy season is over.For all intents and purposes, these seem to work just fine, at least for regular, everyday use. They don't seem to be as sturdily made as my old Filtrete air filters though. If you look at my side-by-side photos, you'll see that the Filtrete air filter (on the right side) has a supportive metal net on both sides of it, whereas the Honeywell air filter only has a supportive net on one side. The Filtrete is easier to slide into my HVAC slot, whereas the Honeywell is more flimsy and takes a little finagling to get it to slide in just right. A couple of them arrived slightly crushed on the edge already too, because they're just not braced as well.Also, the weave of the air filter material on the Honeywell looks and feels looser than the Filtrete. It seems like it wouldn't filter as small of particles as the Filtrete. There are also simply fewer pleats on the Honeywell than on the Filtrete.

These Honeywell 16x20x1 filters fit well into our HVAC. Note that they come in a cardboard box and are NOT wrapped in plastic, so take care how you store them prior to use! We had a clog in our HVAC cause water on the floor, which meant we had to discard the rest of the filters rather than use them.

These are great filters from honeywell. They last roughly 90 days and have thick rippled pleats. The cardboard frames are sturdy enough to hold together for putting in place. They mention odor and VOC control on the label, but not sure how this is achieved. This is achieved possibly by electrostatic material, the fabric filter in general, or the use of activated charcoal which is not mentioned here. I wish I knew because I prefer activated charcoal for odor control. The price is just alright for 12 at $135 (day of review), offering not much advantage for ordering a 3 year supply in one shot. If the price was a little lower 5 stars, for quality and value, but as is 4 stars and a recommendation, based on quality and performance for a 1 inch filter.

The Honeywell MERV 12 filter is the real deal. Its quality can immediately be felt right out of the box; high quality filter media, solid pleating, and durable sturdy surrounding support for easy insertion into your air filter intake. These aren't as rigid as the 3M type of filters with the wire mesh over the filter media, but they do feel like they offer a little better airflow even while also being a higher grade MERV rating. These also do seem to remove cooking smells from the house much better than some of the lower tiered filters out there and while the filter material isn't as dense as some others, it's more spaced with less pleats which likely offers a little better airflow without placing too much strain on the HVAC system, and these claim to be electrostatic, and they do appear to be the type of material that will much better trap dust and other contaminants in the filter and not just cling and potentially fall from the outer surface of the filter.

These filters are thick and sturdy. They are much better than the filters I usually buy which have frames so flimsy, that they partially suck in from the air intake. This doesn't happen with these. I've never used a MERV-12 filter before, so I'm looking forward to enjoying the difference in air quality. And, I like the value of these filters, compared to what I've been getting. I got theses in 14x20 and they fit perfectly without any noticeable reduction in air flow. I would suggest giving these a try.
