This is the third kind of water bottle I have bought in the last 3 years for my grandson who is now a first grader. I ordered two water bottles of a different brand before school started this year. Both had a locking mechanism and a plastic lid that opens and closes. Two months later both lids have gotten cracked, and won’t close and lock.This water bottle is extremely durable, has no plastic lid; the spout, when fully closed, prevents any leaks. It keeps beverages cold all day-there is still ice in it after school. It is very easy to clean. I’m so pleased with it, I ordered another one for juice to put in his lunchbox.

Leaks no matter what u do and the mouth piece your kid will chew. Does keep water cold for a long time and if your kid is careful you won't have to worry about it spilling.
