These days, most bulbs seem to come with screw threads rather than bayonet adapters. This is a bit of a pain if you still have light fittings that require bayonet bulbs. These adaptors resolve that issue.They come in a bubble wrap envelope and are rated at 60W which is plenty in these days of LED bulbs. They appear to be reasonably well made. They do add about 3cm of length to any bulb they are used with, so this should be borne in mind when deciding whether they will fit within a particular light fitting.Overall, at a little under £1 each at the time of writing, these represent excellent value for money.

For reasons I don't understand, screw-in bulbs are becoming more commonplace. And that's odd, because screw-ins are the older format. Bayonet fittings were invented to overcome the inherent problems of screw bulbs and provide a more definite connection. Now I'm told that somehow screw-ins are the safer option and are supplanting bayonet fittings.Well regardless of what's correct, these solve the problem by allowing you to use screw-ins in a bayonet fitting. There's not a lot to say. There's five of these in a pack and I tried them all. They all worked. But I didn't expect that they wouldn't.

B22 to E27 Socket AdaptersFive B22 to E27 White Light Socket Adapters. They are very light weighting in at 10 grams each. They have the CE and UKCA symbols on them which mean that they comply with UK Legislation. They are rated at 60 watts maximum, which is more than enough to power most household LED bulbs. They do extend the bulb overall size by approximately 30 mm and as such may not fit into some light fittings.Overall, they will do as advertised and I will be using them with my E27 LED bulbs.

These allow an Edison screw E27 bulb to be used in the standard bayonet B22 sockets most commonly used for household light fittings. This opens up the possibility of using screw-in bulbs if they are cheaper or more readily available than bayonet equivalents. Out of the five, just one of these was a bit problematic to screw in such a bulb, but all lit it up as expected. Of course that does mean that the bulb will stick out a little further than before, so may be an issue if shades don't cover the bulbs. These are no substitute for light fittings with a screw thread, which are easier for changing bulbs than bayonet ones, but at least once attached to a bulb they can be fitted just as if they were bayonets.

These come in handy because sometimes screw lightbulbs or smart lightbulbs are cheaper than the standard bayonettes, with these adaptors in many cases they're interchangeable. of course they are a reasonable length so they might not work because the bulb won't fit into a restricted area, so that's something to be wary of.

This is a simple way of converting pin bulbs to a screw bulb. I find that the e27 bulb is always in stock in all the shops near me where as the bayonet are sold out so with these I am able to have the best of both. Easy to install and work fine. They do increase the length of the bulb which might mean that it sticks out further then the lampshade but that's the only issue with these. Work great and at a great price
