So much fun - with a little proper maintenance
The whole family has loved playing with these. There have been a few issues that we've learned how to overcome. The first is pairing is wonky. It's easy to accidentally pair one controller to both bots. We now have a house rule that during a reset the other person puts their controller down and doesn't touch it until the one bot is paired to the one controller. The other is batteries. When they first came they didn't work right but putting fresh batteries in both controllers fixed this. Later the one bot got sluggish and kept losing so we put new batteries in the bot itself and it became a great warrior again. I think we'll probably buy another set since they're so much fun.

Good value-for-money and good family fun.
Perfect gift for and 8 year old boy. Purchased as a gift and he loved them! Keep in mind you have to have more than one so you can battle. The arena comes separately. This family actually had purchased one from another company as well, and it did not work and had to exchange it. Thankfully both of these from Amazon were in working order immediately and so they were able to have fun right out of the packaging!Pay attention to the type of batteries that are needed for this type of toy.

perfect for little hands
Used these for 3 - 7 year olds (and their adults). Perfect remote size for small hands. Seem pretty durable - lasted battle after battle for a week and still going. The battle arena is well worth the buy with the bots - smooth surface, limits the battle space so they don't run away under furniture and mostly keeps flying parts contained. Parts are held on with magnets. Easy to reassemble.

Fix for Minotaur
Minotaur’s drum spinner stopped working almost immediately. Here’s the fix: Minotaur’s drum spinner weapon is a spool on an axle, and the spool is actually two pieces friction-fit together. If they start to separate, the spool gets too long and won’t spin freely. (Kind of like two uncompressed LEGO pieces) Simply squeeze the black ends together so that they re-compress into the gold piece. You now have a free-spinning, robot-destroying weapon! “It’s robot fighting time!!!!!”Beta works great!

I wish i could give a 4 star
due to the fact that the remotes and bots tend to have an issue at some point but I still bought more knowing that the bots are so much fun and my kids love them (2 bots keep 3 kids busy for hours every day if i let them) and the maker is 100% the best customer service I've ever had.

Defective product
Batteries inside Minotaur had "exploded" prior to our getting it. Back was rusty. Bot did not work. Product returned.

How to fix Minotaur
The media could not be loaded. Minotaur has a flawed design. The drum spinner is too tight between the forks that hold it in place, which keep it from spinning after a few uses. So, if your weapon doesn't spin, it's time to fix it. This is a delicate fix, so make sure it is done by a competent adult. How to fix:Grab a Philips head screwdriver and remove all the screws on top. Gently pull off the plastic top. Remove the drum spinner, note the tiny rubber band wrapping around the one side. Carefully pull out the drum spinner. Pull out the pin inside the drum and keep aside. Lightly sand the sides of the spinner with a fine grit sandpaper. Clean off these sides, and add a drop of oil to each side if you have it. Put the pin back in, and gently get the spinner back in place with the tiny band on the side. Replace the top and put back in the screws. Your spinner should now have some wiggle room as seen in my attached photo. I may have sanded mine too much, so don't go crazy. As you can see in my attached video the spinner is now working great. The only downside is a slight vibration now happens when the bot is sitting still with the drum spinning... but it works!Good luck, it's not that difficult just go slow and be careful. Try not to move the bot or turn it on while it's open, as the wheels and their gears are a pain to get back in place if they pop out. Once the cover is off keep the bot steady on a table or other surface, don't pick it up while doing this fix.
