I have a 2017 Ford F150 XLT and this was a breeze to install to power my Rove Dashcam. Fit perfect. It literally took 20 seconds total to install and worked exactly as advertised. I was very glad to get rid of the long power cord and use the power from my rear view mirror. Shuts off when the key is turned off even to the accessory position now, but I can live with that for a cleaner look.

Works like adventures. Wish all the wires where coated more.

If you have a dash cam and don't want to run your power cord up to the mirror then this is what you want. My old dash cam had a cable hanging down. That was constantly getting in the way when I was changing the radio or the AC controls. This is such a simple install, and it makes so much more sense to tap into this power source in the mirror than to run a usb cable down to the dash. You can't beat this deal.

I wish I had discovered this adapter sooner because the installation was incredibly easy—just unplug the wire harness from the rearview mirror and plug this adapter in between the harness and the mirror. It looks factory-made while providing the necessary USB port for the dashcam and even comes with three small USB cables. I can confirm that it's plug-and-play for a 2013 F-150 with a RexCam dash cam. I used my ohm meter to check power and it outputs a steady 4.9 volts or higher. The camera powers on and off with the ignition, and the connectors are solid. This custom adapter for the Ford 16-pin mirror connector makes dashcam installation a breeze, without the need for extra cable routing unless you want night surveillance, in which case a special cable kit is needed along with consideration for additional battery drain.

The quality of this power adapter feels questionable. The only reason I ordered this one was because the one I currently have has a box which is more noticeable but honestly feels wayyy better it terms of quality not to mention functions perfectly. I just get the impression this one would potentially cause a short. Could be overthinking it but not risking it. Threw it out. Could work wonderfully for you but I'll stick with what I got.
