This is a more advanced model kit than a snap together. This is my favorite kind of kit. You will be making everything from little parts: tons of flowers, books, lots of paper folding, gluing down flocking for grass, etc. These aren't necessarily hard, they are just a lot more work than the simple kits that have lots of pre-made items. This kit will have you make all of the little fussy details first and then assemble the bigger parts, so it's helpful to have someplace (a box, a shelf, whatever) to store them until you get to the stage where you start assembling the bigger structural parts.The instructions are entirely pictures and very easy to follow, especially if you've done a few kits before. The fist couple of pages in the instruction booklet show each and every part and tell you how many are included. They assign each part a name label and you can refer to that label in the instructions later. If you are supposed to glue piece D3 to piece D4 and you aren't sure what D4 looks like, just flip back to the first couple of pages and find it. For the most part, this was a pretty easy build for me, but the plastic sheeting on the domed parts is a bit tricky. I used binder clips and blue poster tack to keep everything in place while it dried. It helps if you get things somewhat square before you start gluing the plastic. Any little bit that you're off will compound and make it difficult to fit.You will need to have your own glue and batteries for the lights. This is standard for these type of kits due to shipping restrictions. Sometimes you get them and it's a bonus, most times you don't. I use B7000 and turbo tacky glue, depending on what materials I'm working with. You will also need a nice sharp craft knife and sharp pointy detail scissors.

This is just sooo adorable in person. There is so much attention to detail for each piece. It is so fun to make because it looks so real and is so tiny. The furniture and house is based on some really thin plywood type material which is perforated, but requires a exacto knife to cut completely out. The detailed decorations are printed on a nice quality paper so that when you cut them out and glue them onto the wood look very realistic. The plants are partly paper, partly plastic/silk flowers.Even though the final product is beautiful and adorable, I docked a star because I really wish they would have included glue and possibly a small razor blade knife or something. While this kit comes with all the raw materials, it requires that you have a utility knife, glue, scissors, and possibly tweezers. It also would help to have some poster putty or similar to keep all the pieces in place. While most people probably have these things on hand, not everyone would, and it seems like it could be fairly easy to include.The only flaw that I saw in the product was that the piano keys are backwards (the black notes are at the end of the keys instead of the top). This is irritating to me, so I will probably print my own piano keys for that particular piece.With all that said, I really love this, and feel it is still well worth the money paid. It is relaxing to work on, and the final product would be a great decoration (if you have somewhere to put it).
