There is an eight pin lightning connector built into the case. You have to be extremely careful when insert the phone into the case as it must go on the lightening connector at a 30 degree angle. It comes with full instructions on how to do it correctly, if not done carefully then you may damage the case. There is a switch in the back to turn the battery on and off. It means you can take it out with your phone. When your phone starts to lose battery and needs charging you turn on the battery case and it charges the phone! I was able to charge my iPhone from 30% to 100% and still had enough charge in the battery case for another charge. This case charger is perfect if you need extra battery charge when out and about. The other good point is if your phone battery is getting old and does not hold its charge and you can’t afford a new battery then this is a viable option.Highly recommend this case! Especially for festivals and camping!
