Great slow release niacin. Found a way to avoid the flush
Update 8/15/23: Just got my blood results back and highest HDL I've ever had by 12 points, lowest LDL I've ever had by over 30 points, despite trying dozens of other supplements, including hpf cholestene (red yeast rice, lovastatin), nothing even came close to this. Liver enzymes modestly elevated (1.5x normal) though despite milk thistle, which while not a major concern, is not something I want ideally like long term. Am dropping back to one pill a day and hopefully find the sweet spot on the dose response curve. Overall amazed to see my cholesterol in normal range for the first time ever, could not be more happy with this time release niacin.Original review: Having used niaspan in the past, and turning red as a strawberry in July even after a month of use, I was skeptical of this product. Now I am taking a gram (two pills) of this a day and am flush free almost every time, and only mild flushing when it does happen. The key I think was progressively acclimating to doses of sublingual niacin (such as https://www.amazon.com/Kal-Niacin-Tablets-Strawberry-Count/dp/B00L06XSZM). I started at 50mg of that and never had any flush. Then went up to 75mg, had flushing but went away quick and was mild. So stayed at that dose for two weeks until I had no more flush. Then moved up to 100 mg, which only caused mild flushing for a week. Then 150 (1 week). Then 200 (1 week). Finally after reaching 200 mg flush free, I could switch to this product and do 500 mg twice a day with no flush. Tested 50 mg of the instant release shortly after taking this 500 mg pill and it causes mild flushing, so I believe this really is niacin as that amount wouldn't have caused flush in the absence of this pill. Was worried before that that this could have been niacinamide (which seems to have no cardiovascular benefits), but that rarely causes flushing at any dose.Very happy to get a real slow release niacin that can be used without the side effects

Great product!
This niacin supplement is working as expected and I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. Now that I've found a great product at a good price, I plan to order many more times going forward.

It Lowers Your Cholesterol
My husband uses this product to keep his cholesterol and triglycerides in check. He has had miracle numbers on this stuff. Not all Niacins have this effect on cholesterol, it is only the kind in this product - nicotinic acid- that does. Dementia, muscle damage and liver problems are associated with the use of statins (cholesterol drugs) so my husband chose this natural nutrient instead (with the help of his doctor). He has lowered his LDL without lowering the HDL and also lowered his trigylcerides. It took a few months to see results on labs. It does cause you to flush so you might want to take it before you go to bed. My husband takes two a day on the advice of his doctor who is a naturopath.

Helps my pressure.
I must say that since taking this my pressure has lowered.I take one after a meal and no flushing. Now later in the day after a meal I did feel a light flush but nothing like my previous niacin that was immediate release. So sometimes I flushed sometimes I didn't.Mostly I was just alittle warm.Optimum level at 500mg that is released of a 7hr time frame.

Definitely causes flushing
This product definitely causes flushing so it tells me that it’s working. But the flushing on this product for me was so intense I couldn’t stand it anymore. I took Advil per my doctors recommendation 30 minutes before I took my niacin. I would get so itchy and then I would fell like my skin was burning/on fire, then I would turn bright red on my face, neck, chest and upper arms. The last straw for me with this product was when I was at my lawyers office and all the above mentioned symptoms happened and my lawyer asked if I was ok because I looked like a red lobster. So embarrassing!!! I’ve tried other brands of time released niacin and didn’t have flushing this bad, maybe mild flushing the first two weeks and then it would go away. I’ve been taking this product a couple months now and I just keep flushing intensely almost every day. I thought I was saving money by going with this brand because the brand my doctor recommended was expensive but this brand is not worth the flushing! I’ll be finding another brand.

Replaced prescription Niacin ER since Medicare won't pay for. A good replacement.
Price was good. Pills were slightly larger than prescribed Niacin ER. Delivered quickly.
