Jojo?s Bizarre Adventure: Diam [DVD]

For the diehard Araki fan
For a very quick comparison that can be easily made Mike's adaptation is very similar to Edgar Wrights adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs the World. The core story is there to a point but it does take some creative sidesteps to blend it all together in one narrative.Overall the movie is excellent as an adaptation. While not quite as faithfully garish with pink skies and the like which the trailer suggested overall its quite faithful to the way the stands work and the brutal/horrific nature of some of the events of the first few arcs leading to the final confrontation with Okuyasu's brother which does end differently to the manga to suggest a more urgent sequel. The performances, cinematography and soundtrack were excellent, the european set fits for Morioh in a strange but effective way and the one major complaint is two instances of bad cgi in a regional industry known for it, though overall the cgi is actually a lot better than you would expect from a lower budget japanese production.Overall if you are a jojo fan you will probably enjoy it. If not it may be a bit too long and obtuse at times. Personally i am a longtime Araki fan and was very entertained.

DVD is fine but case is broken
This is not a review for the actual movie but the physical item itself, it gets points for arriving very quickly and the DVD itself seems to be fine, unfortunately the case is pretty badly broken so I have to knock off a couple of stars for that. As I said though, the disc itself is fine so overall I guess I'm pleased.

Far too violent for the age rating.
This should be 15/18. Really violent. Not suitable for a 12 year old.

Good adaptation
It's a good adaptation and I easily played it using my Xbox. On the menu screen, the quality was grainy so that worried me but it was good once the film started. This only goes up to the scene where Josuke meets Okuyasu and try to defeat his brother. Overall, I highly recommend :)

A bizarrely good movie
Pretty good film, changes enough and elaborates on some of the earlier plot points of the anime while setting up events that come later in a way that keeps things unique from the show.Shame we won't get a part 2 of this movie, but the movie itself is gold

Just Bizarre
As a lover of the series, it was a no brainer to buy this. It didn't disappoint as it was just as beautifully bizarre as the anime. My only issue with it would be a weird character change in one scene. C'est la vie. The effects were clean, the acting was balanced just right between cringy and serious. To all around create as perfect of a live action as you could really hope for. Conclusion: Gureato daze
