Rhythm Band Handbells (RB107)

This is a really wonderful set of diatonic handbells/deskbells. I teach music and these are a wonderful addition. They have a gorgeous sound and are in tune. These bells can be played both by shaking them, like traditional handbells, and by setting them on the floor and gently tapping the top. These are extremely useful when working with young children of those with special needs since they are very easy to play. They also have both the pitch and the number on each one so that children can associate the letter names and order of notes in the octave. I highly recommend these.

I bought two sets of these to use in a Christmas play at my elementary school that had a bell theme.These bells sound great! They have a pure, wonderfully pleasing tone and are easy to use. Many of my school instruments do not come close to the excellent tone of these bells. I literally threw my old set I inherited in the trash! These can be used like boomwhackers, but the colors are not matched if that is important to you. (A and B are different.)

These bells are amazing! The quality is outstanding and they are so pretty. Our family has had so much fun with these. We looked up some songson you tube to play.

I got the approval on the tone of these from my son, who is a musician with perfect pitch. He didn't want me to get a toy piano for my 3 year old granddaughter to avoid ruining her ear. But these are thumbs up. I love them. I leave them on my coffee table for my granddaughter to ding when she toddles by, but I play with them the most.

These bells have been a surprising success with two special needs children that I work with. Using the picture cards that augment this bell set, I've laminated the cards and added some velcro so a "song" can be set up on an easel that these children can experience some surprising success in creating a song by "reading" the bell pictures that are set up in song order. Rather than putting a card up for each note, I write, for example, a "3" in the bottom corner of the laminated card with a dry erase pen, indicating that 3 of the same note are played in a row. It's been exciting to watch.
