Revived my differential
Very high quality general-use gear oil for the price. Local dealers are charging way too much for lesser fluid of the same spec in my area. I guess you pay the premium for the grape scent 🤷🏻♂️I used this for a very specialized differential that doesn't take limited-slip additive since it messes with the clutch engagement and venting system. For some reason, gear oil without limited slip additive in it is very hard to come by and not very clearly labeled on many competing products. Redline saved the day!Has a clean synthetic/leathery scent to it when warmed up which I think is fine & dandy.10/10

Redline makes a superior rear end oil.
I'm changing the oil in my daughter's Honda Pilot rear axle. I chose Red Line because it's a great oil for this purpose.

Good oil for specific applications
This is specifically made for cars like a 2001 Subaru Outback manual transmission. The transmission is actually a transaxle, which makes a specific type of oil necessary for optimal performance and minimal wear. Redline has the best product for transaxle, and I’ll continue to use this.

Red Line Oil
Great oil for racing differentials with spools or non-limited slip setups. Great price from this vendor and arrived timely as needed.

High coefficient of friction, synthetic
In 2012 I changed the transmission fluid on my 2002 Tacoma.I went looking for SAE 75w90, but couldn't find any.I ordered this and found out that it was synthetic. I knew I wasn't going to find the other stuff easily though so I gave in and used it.So, how does my truck shift now? Well, it's harder to get it into first now because those syncros are warn and this stuff has a very high coefficient of friction, so my syncros in first won't spin up as far as they used to.On the other hand, it's easier to shift the rest of the time. It's a good product, but I'd disrecommend using it on aging syncros. It's a good choice for high performance car though where everything is in good shape and you want fast shifts - it'll slow down that syncro right quick so you can shove it into gear.

Fixes my nephew's Subaru 99 Legacy transmission noise
After my young nephew complained about his newly bought Subaru Legacy 99 transmission noise , I automatically knew someone had put in the wrong fluid in the transfer case. This is very common problem for people even technicians work on cars. Even though it calls for GL-5, it doesn't mean ANY GL-5 fluid. Biggest mistake is when using Mobil 1 85W90 GL-5 LS, people assume to use it in the rear differential and transfer case. Limited Slipped (LS) should be only used in rear differential since manufacturer uses high friction modifier which is very slippery and should NOT be used in transfer case.We replaced Red Line Non-LS in the transfer case with thicker fluid, allows the synchro-mesh to slowly engage thus eliminated noise during shifting. Fortunately, we switched to Red Line Non-LS before the synchro malfunction could resulted a new expensive transmission repair. I just became Red Line cult and recommend this product to all my friends.

This oil with the NS on the label is good for old transaxles with brass blocker rings.
There aren't many oils that will work in my application which is an old transaxle with brass blocker rings in the transmission. This works well in VW, Porsche and Corvair manual trans axles even with limited slip differentials.

Best Transmission or Differential Option
I've been using Red Line gear oil for some time now. They make the correct option for just about any transmission or differential that requires gear oil. I've replaced any standard transmission with it and have always had obvious improvements in shifting. I use MT-90 in an older MR2 5 speed and it noticeably improved it's shifting. The 75W90 was in an Subaru 5 speed, and same experience was observed - shifting is improved.I highly recommend trying Red Line products.
