Tastes great and very easy to make as a snack (or an appetizer!). The mushroom dip is creamy and delicious. And the polenta sticks were nice and crunchy.

Comes in a really cute carrying container that makes it a pretty gift. Although the instructions were really easy, just cut polenta and fry for 7min and 7min again, I had a hard time making it crisp. The polenta just wouldn't get the nice toasty texture no matter how long I fried it. I added more olive oil of my own as well to try to get it crispy but it stayed more mushy than anything. Maybe I wasn't patient enough with it, but definitely did fry for over 14 min. Taste was fine, the polenta is basic in flavor, soft. The sauce is thick and mushroom-y as expected and a bit salty, but pairs well with the neutral flavor of the polenta. Not bad overall, but definitely not what I thought. You can't easily pick up the pieces and dip, more like mix these together with sauce.

Hmm, I think making this was funner than actually eating it. Haha, the “polenta fries” had a hard time crisping up.I followed instructions to a tee and they were still super flimsy so I fried some more but it never got quite as crispy as one would expect. It tasted kind of bland too. The dip was okaaay. I’ve enjoyed better basic polentas before so this was not for me.I would say it is a nice kit if this is just your first time in dabbling with this food, but I would recommend finding other dips, it would make this taste better.

Incredibly salty and the sauce is terrible. Pass.

The polenta kit was easy to make. I’ve always had issues with polenta in the past, so I was hesitant to buy the kit, but I’m glad I did. The included dip were also decent. The seasonings in the dip were more subtle than you’d think. It’s easy to follow instructions, and they worked well to make a very simple snack or side dish. My polenta did not turn as good but also not too bad.

This cooked up easy and made a quick ready to go snack/side. I wouldn’t call polenta and mushroom sauce a meal in itself – you’ll at least want a veggie or a meat or both. However, this will be a great accompaniment. If served with other food, it would easily feed the four promised, or even up to six if it were just part of a bigger meal.The polenta cooked up just fine. It was creamy on the inside and crisped up how I like it on the outside. In Ohio where I come from, most people would know polenta as “mush” and they would consider it a breakfast food. Since the mushroom jar wasn’t huge (big dippers will be disappointed here), I reserved half the mush to make separately as a breakfast food. It was delicious for that purpose as well.Overall, mush is not something people want to make from scratch. We used to make it that way at Bob Evans when I worked there, and it was an arduous process that took over 24 hours before the mush was ready to be sliced and fried (or deep fried). This is a good idea kit for those who don’t realize that mush is polenta and that it’s not only used as a breakfast food.
