Expensive phone charger, or carbon monoxide detector?
My fair assessment, I just don't know how to rate this item because of the following reasons. First of all it is made in China and the included instructions booklet was anything but helpful. The booklet was written by someone who does not know English so what I did understand was this. The unit comes with a super fast cell phone charging port and USB. In regards to the carbon monoxide function, well I could not be more confused. The booklet does not clearly explain how the unit alerts you to a dangerous Monoxide level, here is an excerpt directly from the booklet and you can make your own decision; "plugged into the cigarette lighter you hear a drip, carbon monoxide sensor module, preheat 3 minutes to start periodic work, when the yellow light flashes. The working cycle is 150 in seconds, the first 60 seconds is time to take off the time, the time is not flashing, then 90 seconds to check the concentration time of the gas. At this time the yellow light is bright. When the carbon monoxide is detected in this time period, it is greater than at 100PPM, the buzzer beeps at half a second flashing yellow lights". So for me what I gathered from that was, you plug it in and if a dangerous level is detected it beeps and flashes lights,,,okay sounds simple but wait. When I use the item it beeps when you first plug it in. Afterwards if you touch it, like if you disturb it you will hear beeps and see flashing lights?. The lights around the edge of the unit stay on all the time when they are not flashing. I have tested the unit with the engine off and driven with the windows down, but the lights stay on. I guess my bottom line is I really do not trust the item to alert me to this danger without doing some type of carbon monoxide test to see if it works. So for now I have an expensive phone charger.

Ford Explorer toxic death machine?
My wife and I have a Ford Explorer and I drive one at work. I bought this because the Exploer has a reputation for having high levels of CO2 build up inside the vehicle. I first tried it out in my work vehicle that I spend about 12 hours a day in. I also used it in my truck on my way to and from work with no alarms. Tonight while running an earned the alarm went off in my wife’s 2016 Explorer. I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in a few minutes later the alarm went off again. We opened the windows to air out the car unplugged the unit again and plugged it back in. After about ten minutes with no alarm we closed the windows a few minutes later the alarm went off again. We will be taking the car in to the dealer to have it checked out.

and feels like it it could be a quality item
I have an Explorer, so I wanted this to check the CO levels in my truck. It is well packages, and feels like it it could be a quality item. However, no matter which of my vehicles I plug it into, it doesn't sit tightly, so every bump I hit, it resets and beeps, and I can only assume starts the process over again. I can only assume, because the instructions that came with it are very poorly written, and are very difficult to understand. I am very disappointed. I gave it a 3 star instead of 2 star, because the charger portion does work.

It works despite sketchy construction quality.
The detector seems to work well. I bought it because of an exhaust leak on my work truck. It did detect and alert me when CO levels got high in my cab. I was able use it to convince the lease company to fix the exhaust leak. The repair was apparently successful because the detector has not gone off since.Cons - the quality of construction is not the highest.Pros - the detector works!

CO alarm went off
Well, I was a little skeptical on this but owning a Ford Explorer I figured it wouldn't hurt. Today while driving I got a pretty bad headache and felt like I was on top of the Rockies. Not 2 seconds after feeling this, the thing started beeping. I was 2 seconds from my destination to drop off a package, but I stood outside for an extra 5 minutes to get some air before feeling better. I drove home with all the windows open and the AC on circulate. It didn't go off again.Highly Recommend.

One Star
I bought 2 of these and right after Amazon's last day to return, one of them stopped working. P.O.S. Update: They sent me a replacement and it works. They also followed up with a email.

Works
Bought as a must since some SUVs were reported to have exhaust leaks. It seems to do as advertised with extra ports plus a glass breaker. Gives our new Explorer a clean green light.

Works well as a USB charger but not as a sensor. Beeps every time it is connected and issue with it dissing lodges ( not having full contact within the socket ) during bumpy roads.
