Prime Vinyl Cutting Mat, 23" x 35" Large Self Healing Sewing Mat, 5-Ply Heavy Cut Board, Rotary Cutting Mat for Crafts, Sewing Supplies and Quilting Tools

This is a double sided mat, with one side printed in Inch measurements and the other side printed in metric measure. The printing on both sides is very clear and crisp with clean edges. The size is reasonable, it will provide plenty of work space for most projects.Besides having different grid spacing, the two sides have different patterns of angle markings, and the metric side has hole size markings that aren't on the inch side. It might have been better if both sides had combined similar patterns (with adjustments for the respective measuring units)The material is pretty stiff, it would be possible to roll the mat but not very tightly. (It shipped flat) I'd plan on storing it flat or on edge.It is also relatively heavy compared to other similar size mats I've handled, but this is because it is made of fairly thick heavy duty material so not a bad thing.I tried cutting on the mat with a rotary cutter - cutting fabric did not leave noticeable marks. Heavy direct pressure on the mat did cut into it a little, but the cuts closed up tightly and left the surface smooth. A utility knife gave similar results (note the direct pressure was pretty much abuse) so I'd expect to see some wear over time, especially if making repeated cuts in the same area, however I think this mat will hold up at least as well if not better than other similar products.Comparing this in a quick look at other similar size mat listings, this mat seems to be a good value. It wasn't the least expensive, but it was among the lower priced options and seemed reasonable for it's quality.

I have several cutting mats that are a number of years old and I have noticed that some styles seem to do better than others, for comparison. This mat from The Prime Vinyl Store is heavy and the mat feels wonderful. My other mats were not two sided so that is a great bonus as well. In my mind I will cut on one side and flip to the unused side when I am going to have friends over - that will be in my craft room. Although with the way this mat is made, it may not show one way or the other. The price at the time of this review is $33.99. I think this price is an absolute steal. My rating is 5 Stars. I already have a Fiskar cutting mat and got this to double my cutting surface for quilting and sewing. This mat is thicker and heavier than my original mat and has a great cutting surface. It has inches on one side and metric on the reverse. It includes lots of angles to help with measuring and cutting. The only thing missing is fractions...there are no 1/2 or 1/4 inch measures on the mat. It adds more cutting surface to my work space which should keep me from slicing through my table cloth again!

I’m really impressed with this cutting mat! It’s self-healing, so it holds up well over time without showing too much wear, even after repeated cuts. The thickness is great—much sturdier than some other mats I’ve used. It works perfectly with a rotary cutter, providing a smooth and reliable surface for cutting fabric.One of my favorite things about this mat is how well it pairs with a projector. I can project patterns directly onto the mat and fabric, then easily cut along the lines. It makes pattern cutting so much more efficient and precise. The size is great, it's a large enough space to accommodate a variety of patterns, without being so large that it becomes prohibitive in small spaces.Overall, I’m very happy with this mat. It’s durable, versatile, and does exactly what I need for my projects. Highly recommend it!

I have 2 Fiskars cutting mats of the same size in my craft room and can always use more for my Cricut station. Upon initial inspection, it looked like any other cutting mat. However, the longer I looked at it, the more useful inclusions I found. One side boasts metric measurements including semi-circle guides in 3 helpful sizes (20mm, 15mm, 11mm), angle guidelines from 0-180 in 30 degree increments, and full circles ranging from 5mm-35mm. The other side holds imperial measurements including 2 diagonal strips (1" and 2"), a quick 90 degree square where the strips intersect, and angle measurements in the corner ranging from 0-90 degrees in 15 degree increments. This is now my new favorite cutting mat that I have. It is noticeably thicker than my Fiskars mats which helps with the self-healing magic as well. No weird smells to contend with or air out, it is ready to start using out of the box.

This has two sides - one with meter measurements and one for inches. Took me a moment to figure that out as I was trying to cut on the meter side with my inches rulers and couldn't figure out why the lines were not matching. it fit perfectly on my 4ft adjustable table width wise, giving me an elevated space to use it. It is nice and thick, and has some extra line guides to help with a variety of cutting styles. My cutters aren't leaving any marks so far, so the self healing part is working well.
