Bosch 2607000102 Parallel Guide

I recently purchased a Bosch PHO 1 500 Watt Planer and having purchased the item, realised that there were accessories missing. I pay great attention to detail and having a touch of OCD, this item is essential if you are going to use the planer and require the planer to run on a parallel guide.Quite fiddly to attach to the planer, but once you have done so, very easy to use. Basically this tool guides the planer along the surface parallel to the edge. You therefore are able to plane the wood and at the same time, given an even finish. I don't think this is something I would use in all instances, but let's say if you are planing a door, this will give you a nice even finish. Cost is not prohibitive so a nice piece of kit.Highly recommended.

As quite a few reviewers have already mentioned, my item arrived with missing parts.It is blatantly obvious that people are buying this item because they have misplaced an original part, so they steal it out of the box and return to Amazon for a refund.Amazon then simply put this item back up for sale without any qualms whatsoever so that the next unsuspecting customer receives an incomplete item and perhaps can't be bothered with returning the item.Being and experienced engineer, I was able to sort out the missing item with a subsitute item, but not ideal and many would not be able to.I contacted Bosch customer service on a number I had to look up myself, as the supplied number from Amazon is for Domestic Appliances.Whilst they were apologetic they could not help as they dont supply spares for "Accessories".I suggested they pack their Accessories in sealed bags, to prevent people stealing parts and returning to Amazon.The Parallel Guide itself is useful but very expensive for what it is and I also enlarged the sole plate with a rectangular piece of plywood to give increased stability.Given that you can buy Pallets of Amazon returns, I doubt Amazon will even care about the odd missing part.

This fitted my quite old Bosch planer. It worked perfectly when I had to trim my kitchen kick-boards, giving a square cut along the whole length.

This is a great bit of kit once you work out where everything goes as there are no instructions supplied.I've had my planer for many years and never really used it due to the difficulties in keeping it aligned and true.This enables me now to plane edge's of doors, shelves and many other things whilst keeping a very flat and square edge.The pic's should give a decent guide as to where everything goes as Bosch couldn't even be bothered putting a product picture on their website.

Don't buy - chances are it will be missing parts.
