Beautiful art plus adult storylines!
There are many stories we were told as children that all had happy endings. But if you read the real Grimm fairy tales, they aren't so happy. I was at a comic-con a few years ago and because I love all fantasy art and stories, I didn't want to leave the Zenescope booth. Everywhere I looked, I wanted to buy everything! Since Alice was always my favorite, this is first one I read which led to a whole lot more. This is one of the prettiest covers. After I read it, I had to make a map of which ones came next in the series. The writers take what could be a happy story (boring) and make a story so opposite (exciting). Never has a comic book made me look in a previous issue to make sure I was reading about the same character. It's sort of like 'anything goes'! It's fun reading and the artistry is amazing. Most of the women are the ones in control, they're strong....they just happen to not need much clothing. I don't understand people who give it bad reviews because of the half naked women. It's kind of obvious before you buy it what you're getting. Comics never really interested me until I saw a few WItchblade, Fathom & Darkchylde comics. But zenescope is way better because they are into all different fantasy worlds. I can't believe how fast they branched out with so many different stories!

A new Alice
This is definitely for a mature audience. it is illustrated wonderfully. It has an engaging twist that takes bits from the original lore of wonderland and through the looking glass. The only bad thing is that it references different books throughout the volume. By reference, I mean they literally say "see comic insert name" which is annoying, but doesn't affect the story to much.

whole series is good
buy this, however it will leave you hangin wantin more so maybe you should buy the others in the series too. alice is a wife a mother and a looney with the memory of wonderland in her head botherring her years later. the daugher of alice is the focal point throughout the series and theres alot of family connection within from alices grandad to alices grandchildren. i didnt plan on buying them all but i got sucked in to the great story.

Good read. Really good read. Did I mention that it is a good read? It is a very good read. Good read.
It is dark. So much gut and gore that I don't even know where to begin with. But it's a nice change of pace from all the other happy-go-lucky comics that I've read this year. The artwork is very well done, especially on the female characters (don't get me wrong, I bought this for the artwork and story, I swear!). If you're a fan of Zenescope comics, then you're gonna love this one as well.

Interesting
Storyline is inconsistent on its own, for it requires other tales to have the full tale. Without them you won't have a full tale. Great artwork and an in depth world

Kindle edition does not work well on iPad
Kindle edition does not work well on iPad. The resolution isn't good. Text is fuzzy. I haven't seen the paper version and that might bring a different impression, but the quality of the artwork is a couple notches below the art of the cover.

Quality artwork, Grim Fairy Tales as usual- Story is ok
Beautiful artwork and the story is interesting. It is what it is when it comes to graphic novels.I have nothing against the producer/writer/ artist regarding Grimm fairy tales, but the story wasn't my favorite. All and all, still a neat TPB

another way to get my alice fix
This product was delivered in impeccable condition once again. Where to start? This hardback edition of the grimm fairytale series of alice in wonderland is made up of the 6 comics that made up the series. There are chapters within the volume to indicate where these comics ended which is a nice touch. The creepy yet beautiful artwork throughout this product is so colourful and delightful and spans from cover to cover. I should mention that even if you remove the paper outer cover, its protecting the artwork thats printed onto the actual hardback cover which is one of the beautiful scenes from within the book. This is a must for all alice fans who enjoy graphic novels although I recommend you begin with the return to wonderland series also part of the grimm fairytales and made by zenescope as that one was printed first and is also available in a hardback volume like this one. There is also a third installment of the alice series by zenescope and its the grimm fairytales escape from wonderland again available in a hardback volume, so to ensure maximum pleasure purchase in the correct order so as to avoid any confusion. In short, if you love the alice story and comics and would like to see a dark twist on lewis caroll's legendary story then this is right up your street.

Alice in Wonderbras
Firstly, there is no denying this book has some great artwork and is a clever reworking of the Lewis Carroll's original stories. In many ways it is reminiscent of Tim Burton's 2010 cinematic remake, although I feel this is far better, with much more interesting characters and a far more intriguing plot.Unfortunately, a couple of aspects hold it back for me. The kindle version I have is not very well adapted for my iPad mini and as such it is not very easy to pinch and stretch the pages to enjoy the finer details, or in some cases read the text. The second factor was the blatant eroticisation of Alice and co. Now don't get me wrong I'm happy snog hey to enjoy a scantily clad comic book character, but in this case it gets progressively more obvious and out of place as the book goes on. Indeed the alternative covers at the end of the book are close to comic book porn. As I say, fine in its place but not quite what I expected in this, and it really only serves to overshadow what is an outstanding story.Worth a read for sure, but perhaps not to everyone's taste.

Nice pictures, shame about the content
Nice artwork, but the story plays out like a bad Marvel / DC comicbook. Plenty of blood, guts and pseudo emotional claptrap but you never really get a feel for the characters - there's no emotional empathy with them. Not a patch on alternative Wonderlands such as Alice - madness returns. Different medium I know but there it is.

Lots of nice artwork
Nice artwork in places but that is all! Glad I only paid a £1 for it! Nothing special and way to many references to others books I won't be checking out. Not for me.
