Somewhere In the World Right Now (Rise and Shine)

This is a beautifully written and illustrated book that also happens to teach about time zones. I've bought it many times over the years!

This book is a wonderful children’s book, I love that it introduces children to the concept that the world is bigger than just your little corner of it. Book itself I would rate 10 stars. Stars taken off for damaged product. I wish Amazon would send paperback books in a more protective container. This came in a bubble envelope but is completely damaged and as this is a baby shower gift, I cannot send it to recipients in such bad shape. I am so glad I didn’t send it directly to them and instead had it shipped to myself first because it would have been embarrassing for them to open it like this. My option is for a free replacement, but what is to stop the next one from showing up looking the same?

I loved this book!! Mentioned East Chicago, where we live. So yay!! My kids weren't as into it. The illustrstions are way too dark for nighttime reading. They couldn't see the pictures. So of course they were bored. We haven't read it since the first day. Oh well.

Let's admit it, time zones can be confusing to our young ones & even to some of us older ones. This delightful book does a good job of explaining how whilst some folks are sleeping, some others are waking up & some are going about their day.Time Zone maps are at both the front & the end of the book.This book was recommended to go along with our Geography curriculum & I am glad we purchased it. It is certainly one we will be keeping in our library.

This book is an excellent introduction to geography and has a great overview of different time zones. Using it in our homeschool with a first and third grader.

I bought this book, after it was recommended by my teacher-daughter, to share with the little ones in the family. It's wonderful! Beautiful illustrations and an excellent introduction to a complex concept.

I love this book. It is a great way to introduce time zones as well as to give young readers more of a global perspective.
