Quality packaging and sachets, the sencha is nice
The matcha sencha is flavorful, savory and grassy and very refreshing after a meal. I find it easy to drink a lot of this, my favorite out of the bunch. I like this even more than the Chinese loose leaf green tea i usually drink. Ive had similar delicious green tea from japanese restaurants. The other two tea types ive never had before. The hojicha is very savory, too savory to drink a lot of, reminds me of roasted seaweed/nori which i like but a bit heavy with that one note dominating the flavor. The genmaicha is dissapointing. It smells wonderfully nutty but the unique popcorn-like flavor is too subtle when you actually taste it. For a nutty flavor profile, I prefer barley tea, like they serve in Korean restaurants, which has a much bolder roasted nutty flavor. The tea in the sachets is pretty ground up and steeping a second time doesn't really work i guess because the matcha powder is gone, which is a shame since I usually like to resteep my tea and drink it multiple times. The packaging is nice and this was a nice introduction to different style Japanese teas. I appreciate the variety without having to buy a box of each style tea.

Good taste
I really like the hojicha flavor, but the price of the tea is a little high compared to other brand. The taste is not premium.

Wonderful teas. So happy there is a variety box.
The box I received was pretty beat up but the packets of tea bags inside were fine. I never would have purchased a whole box of the brown rice or the roasted green because I'd worry that I would not like it. This variety box is the perfect solution to that. The green matcha is a nice tea but it is the other two that really shine: The roasted green is probably my favorite. It has a sort of "chestnuts roasting on an open fire" vibe to it. I can't quite find the right words for it but as soon as you make a cup and smell it, it smells roasted in a lovely way. It's absolutely deelish. The green matcha with brown rice has a similar taste: a roasty flavor that is just wonderful going down. I just got the sampler box two days ago and came to Amazon today specifically to buy a box of the roasted green tea because it's so good.

Three flavors in one box from famous tea company.
We normally get the Itoen green tea box from Costco for the office. This is from same tea company and it is great that it comes with three different types. I like the Matcha Genmai cha (center) in the morning and green tea for lunch and dinner. The roasted tea is a special treat once in a while.
