Dummy up!
No, this is not the kind of dummy load you stick inside a cigar and wait for your friends to blow up when they light it!It will, however, keep you from blowing up any transmitters when there is no antenna attached! You will have to do the research yourself, but, the short story is, don't ever run a transmitter without some type of load on it (dummy load or antenna at 50 ohms or better) or you run the risk of burning out the circuitry.Whether this can happen quickly, I do not know, but I'd rather play it safe by putting on a cheapy dummy load, rather than risk blowing up my expensive transmitters.Keep in mind, this is a 10 WATT load, not a 75 watt load as the title claims - it will only handle 75 watts for a very brief time (seconds!)Also note this device has a "CB" aka "UHF" aka "PL239" female type connector. I needed a set of adapters for my fm transmitter to connect the pl239 female to a BNC female type.Might just have to try making my own dummy load at some point in the future if I ever need anything bigger, they're not exactly complicated devices. Just me being lazy and this was a nice convenience and worth the $20 for me to buy :)10-4!

Dummy load for the masses
A very handy tool. The rating is good for all but the bigger amplifiers, the size is perfect, the price is great, and it needs no cooling oil. I needed a dummy load to compare radios as I was getting inconsistent results using just a swr meter and a magnet mount antenna. With this little dummy load installed instead of the antenna the swr was 1:1 with both radios and relative power output was nearly identical on both radios. That was the info I needed as it pointed to the mag mount antenna as the problem! ... Mark

If you have a transmitter, you need a dummy load.
The only problem I have is the Writing says it is 75 Watts but on the product it is limited to 10 watts. Fortunately, I only needed 5 Watts for a QRP radio so the difference was not a problem. If you need a dummy load for more than 10 Watts, I would recomment that you get a different dummy load.

Almost Enough!
Unfortunately, this dummy load's capacity is right at a level where most people leave citizen's band power level restrictions and enter the world of linear amplifiers. It does it's job up to the maximum 75 watts.

What can you say about a dummy
This is my go to dummy load in most cases.

Works just fine
I use this in concert with my Comet antenna analyzer. It has already help me track down a connector issue on a feed line. I'd buy another.
