Fear You (Broken Love Book 2)

the FMC was irritating…
**mild spoilers ahead**I really started to hate the FMC! Her actions make no sense. I think the author is trying to show that she’s built some sort of backbone but she’s saying one thing and doing another. She just looks like a snitch, not like somebody who finally grew a backbone. Her behavior really irritated the crap out of me. She had a lot of cognitive dissonance going on. She kept changing the stance on how she felt and that’s not fair to the people around her and to Kieran. It was pretty messed up of her to keep pushing Kieran to spill the beans about his personal life and the things that he’s done for her to then turn around and snitch on him. She could’ve just chosen to leave him alone. She completely gave the impression that she was seeking out information about his past to understand him better. Not to out the clear blue rat him out. I really question the decisions this author was making for the FMC. It seems like she was creating unrealistic actions for the FMC to keep the angst going between the main characters. But it started to make the FMC‘s character and integrity look flaky.Keep in mind I was so annoyed with her character that I started writing this review only after being 13% in the second book.Throughout the entire book all she keeps on doing is pressing Kieran for information about his past and all the things that he’s done like she’s trying to understand him but then she turns right around and rat him out at every turn she gets. I believe the effect the author was trying to portray by having the FMC do this was not obtained. I believe the author was attempting to portray the FMC as somebody who finally grew a backbone. But all she did was make the FMC look flaky and annoying and two-faced.Towards the end when they’re at dinner for Valentine’s Day the FMC yet again pushes Kieran to spill his guts about his past but she comes off as somebody who just wants to know from morbid curiosity. Even if it was obvious she’s asking because she wants to try to understand him, that kind of trauma you can’t just spill your guts out to somebody so easily like that. She comes off as a selfish thoughtless person who just wants him to share such horrible traumatizing information without really giving him any understanding about it. She doesn’t even care that she’s making him relive it. Having to go through to tell that tale can in itself be traumatizing. Her thoughtless behind only cares about hearing it. When it sucks because all she does at every turn is use that information against him and judges him based off of it. I think the author needs a little bit of practice on how to portray her characters character properly. She gave up way too easily when it came to the sexual activity but portrayed such vehement passion when wanting to see him get arrested and punished for all his “perceived” offenses. These two Character traits contradict each other. One action shows that of a weak willed person and the other shows that of a strong willed person. It’s mutually exclusive. If she had such tenacity to go after him to the point where she would chase down detectives, put her safety and well-being on the line trying to get evidence and willingly put her self in Kieran’s crosshairs by boldly admitting it was her who ratted him out, but as soon as he nibbles on her neck her pants are off, literally! Finally, the story could’ve been told in one book. It was getting so monotonous, the same exact situation for being regurgitated over and over again throughout the book. It was getting so boring with their tug-of-war. It was the same scenario being thrown back over and over again. She’d blow him off he get pissed, he’d get her aroused, she’d give in and then he’d bounce, leaving her mad. They would fight make up, fight and make up, over and over the same thing but on a different day. The author would randomly throw in a situation where Lake needed to be saved by Kieran for good measure.Even with the lack of appropriate continuity, monotonous regurgitated situation, drawn out angst and flip-floppy FMC, I liked the story enough to finish it and I am invested enough to read the other two books to find out about the other couples. But I got to tell you, if the flaws that I witnessed throughout these two books aren’t corrected on some measure within the third and fourth book, then I’m tapping out. Luckily I have KU so I didn’t have to pay for them which will make it much easier for me to walk away from said books. But I’m hoping that won’t be the case because I really am looking forward to Keenan/Sheldon Dash/Willows stories. Especially Dash and Willows. Finally the way they came together was to contrived. It wasn’t really believable. Kieran did a 180 degree turn in the last 10 minutes of the book… I get that his inner monologue was supposed to indicate that he was on hi was to change but it didn’t work out that way. He was brooding and cynical and none believing until 3 chapters til the end…

5 ANGST...ANGST...& MORE ANGST STARS!! Loved it!!
Fear You is the second book in the Broken Love Series by Author B.B. Reid and the conclusion to Keiran and Lake's frivolous love affair. Book two gives us more understanding of Kerian's thinking and why he is the way he is. I love that we get dual POV...I love being in Keiran's head. We get more regarding his past, his past with Lily, and why he treated Lake the way he did.Fear You picks up pretty much where book one left off. We follow Keiran and Lake through their final year of high school, where Lake is still trying to figure out Keiran and trying to fight her feelings for him. Keiran is torn between harassing Lake and protecting her. His obsession and addiction to her outweighs his need to stay away. He craves the domination over her because of his possessiveness toward her."I was as much her sexual prisoner as she was mine. Those would be the times I took her the hardest and unleashed my cruelty on her.""When Keiran came back into my life he came with a vengeance."Lake finally found courage and has a backbone in Fear You. She is no longer afraid of her tormentor. She wants answers and she's not afraid to demand them. She may not get all the answers, but that doesn't mean she stops demanding them. She stands up for herself and fights back...and that I absolutely loved. There was a particular time in Fear You that I wanted to smack Lake, though. I was so mad at her. I think because we did have Keiran's POV, and with that, giving me a better understanding of his feelings and what his intentions were, I wanted to strangle her. I mean, I wanted to ring her neck...I was so frustrated. But in her defense, she was doing the right thing for what was happening around her. I know I'm probably confusing you, but the way it "looked" to her, she was in the right doing what she did. But, she was also out for revenge."You don't want to hear the truth. You want the fairytale. I want to ruin you."Getting to know the man behind the mask of Keiran Masters, made me love him even more. I felt so guilty wanting more of Keiran. His actions were horrific at times and I was fighting within myself to keep reading. It felt so wrong but it felt so right too. I was struggling and conflicted with my emotions. I wanted to whip his ass and tell him to get over himself but then I wanted to hug his neck and kiss his face off. It was a roller coaster ride with my emotions. Up and down...up and down.I loved the banter between Keiran and Lake. It made me crave more. My stomach was in knots and I was nervous most of the time, but that's what I crave and love the most about books. Bring on the angst...my favorite kind of reads. This series has a story to tell and it's not rushed...it's not drug out...it's perfection. But, I must say, the first part of this book was a teeny tad slow for me, but I think that was just me. I was on such a high from book one that I was so ready... adrenaline was pumping and my heart was beating a mile a minute...Book one will leave you with many questions but thank goodness that book two is out. Your questions will be answered in book two. ;)It's really hard for me to write a review for Fear You and Fear Me without giving away spoilers and ruining this series for you. All I can say, is read both of these books. If you love dark reads an angst, then I definitely recommend reading both. This series is one that you will not forget. It's one of those that will linger in your mind from now on. I know it will for me anyway.I promise that once you start reading, you will not want to put it down. I have the kindle app on my cell, so any chance I got, I was glued to my phone. That's how B.B. Reid held me prisoner for a couple of days. I wanted to be glued to my kindle. When I wasn't at home reading, I was on my cell reading every chance I got.B.B. Reid is definitely on my radar now. I'm looking forward to future reads from this author. I'm super excited for the next book in this series... Fear Us, which will take us on a journey with Keenan and Sheldon, and hopefully the rest of the cast. I.CAN.NOT.WAIT!!! This series has fantastic supporting characters. I fell in love with Keenan and Sheldon. I'm super excited to read their story!!!ANGST...ANGST...& MORE ANGST!!!I give Fear You 5 Crazie Stars!!! ~Kim

Just wow
I had no idea how this would end with an HEA. While reading I just kept telling myself there is just no way. Too much stuff has happened for them to be together in the end. Boy was I wrong. The amount of growth the main characters have from book 1 to the end of Fear You is astronomical. Kieran Masters is the ultimate bad boy and morally Grey character. There are so many things about him that make you scream at Lake to run far away. But when he's vulnerable I became putty immediately. This story, well I guess duet, sank it's claws into me and held on tight. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I needed to know everything about every character. There were moments my heart was racing because I couldn't see what was about to happen next. B.B. Reid has gained a fan and I can't wait to continue reading to find our how everyone else gains their HEA.Make sure to check TW and CW. There are a lot of things in this that can make some uncomfortable.Oh shoot I didn't even mention the spice lol. That's how great the plot was. The spice while amazing and a big part of the dynamic between Lake and Kieran took a back seat for me. Which is saying a lot because I love all the smut. If you enjoyed The Ritual by Shantel Tessier you'll enjoy this highschool bully romance.

Dark Romance, many triggers. Epic.
These books are awesome, just wow. The heaviness of the subjects covered is well written and sensitive, something not all authors can achieve. It's a story that will stay with me for a long while I think.Triggers** Rape, Child Prostitution, Child slavery, murder, bullying.*about the book*Keiran was sold as a child to a sex slave ring, who conditioned him to become a killer. At the age of 8 he 'saves' a young girl by killing her to end her torture. He is then saved by an undercover FBI agent, and released to his uncle. The MFC Lake, having lost her parents, moves in with her Aunt. The pair meet and Keiran believes Lake looks like the girl he murdered, and was sent to punish him. There starts 10 years of torturous bullying. The story begins after he returns from lock up, being wrongfully accused of drug possession at school, and thinking Lake set him up. He wants to do more than bully Lake, he wants to possess her, control her and break her. What he doesnt realise, is he was never in control from the start....Epic love story from those who feel incapable of love, a story of possession and emotional ties that are incredibly deep.Although this is the end of Kieran and Lakes story, the development of the characters within allow for the story to continue through the other Characters. I cannot wait to read on.

Slow start
I was undecided on 3 or 4 stars, as this is a very slow book. I wasn’t sure I was going to finish up until I got to 50% through, then it finally picked up pace and finished the rest of the book in two days. In my opinion the first half of the book just didn’t need to be there and the last half was too rushed with the jumps ahead months at a time, so cut the first half and put more detail in the second half to make a full book. I have to say in this book lake annoyed the hell out of me most of the time. How can you want to imprison someone and still f*** them at the same time. Maybe I’m getting too old lol. I’m now going to read book 3 I just hope going to a different couple will keep my interest.

Amazing!!!
Fear You is the sequel to Fear You and a definite must read if you read and loved the first book on this series.I finally had time to read more in this series and wow! I have seriously been missing out.Fear You is amazingly quite dark but then I wouldn't expect anything different from this author but be warned this book is another emotional roller coaster, so prepare yourself for the ride of your life!!This plot is well developed and although it doesn't move at a particularly fast pace, it does move along quite nicely and keeps your turning the page again and again. The flashbacks are dark and quite difficult to read but they are imperative to the story's development as we delve further into Keiron Master's dark and twisted past. The more I read from B.B. Reid the more I fall in love with her style of writing, It's dark and gritty and her powerful words pull you into the depths of the pages and refuses to let you go until they have thoroughly wrung you out of every emotion possible.I would absolutely recommend this to everyone!!

Twisting, Turning, Outstanding 5 Stars
Fear You is book #2 in the Broken Love series. I’ve gone straight from Fear Me to Fear You and I can easily say this series had become my new obsessionTo say I devoured this book is the understatement of the year, I literally didn’t put this book down for a minute. These characters and story completely consumed me and had me on the edge of my seat.Keiran and Lake play this sexual charged game of cat and mouse and whew it’s so freaking sexy!!Their relationship is so bl@@dy dysfunctional because as much as they are drawn to each other they genuinely don’t like one another!!I loved seeing Lake fight her need to get back at Keiran with the fact that she was in love with him.Lake found some backbone and I found her sarcastic barbs and smug smirks bl@@dy hilarious, watching her wind up Kieran was almost as sexy as the actual sexy time.Keiran’s iceman mask seriously slipped in this book, his adoration and caveman like need to protect Lake became obvious to see and it made me fall completely head over heels for him. There is sooooo much drama in this book and bl@@dy hell what a twisted plot BB Reid has woven. But I LOVED it!!This is one of those series you don’t forget and again I’m going straight onto the next book to read Keenan and Sheldon’s story.Fear You gets 5 brilliant stars.
