When I was married 38 years ago, I was given a hardwood spatulas and spoon set. They were wonderful, they were amazing. Ten years ago, I thought I needed another spatula set (someone ran off with my spoon at a picnic). I was ecologically aware that bamboo grows very quickly, etc. They were supposed to be uber durable but within 4 years all had broken.This month my wooden spatula vanished. I chose to buy this hardwood set, and I am more than pleased. It's hard wood and the grain of the wood is tight and fine. The edge of the spatula beveled somewhat, making it easier to slide under hot items. The finish is even better than my old one (don't tell it; I expect for it to show up any time now after buying another. That's the way it usually goes.) The finish is ultra smooth. I can't say enough about this set.If you are looking for a wedding shower gift, the packaging is very, very nice; you'd not have to wrap it at all.I expect to keep these for the rest of my life. Shipped and delivered quickly. There were some wooden splinters thinking off on the flat spatula with holes, like from creating those holes. I was able to scrub them off. There is not a coating of wax or any sort so the utensils are a little rough, more of a raw wood. Gets the job done.

pretty much perfect but smells funny until you wash it a few times

I just love them for being organic,non-toxic.Exactly what I was looking for.The thong is also the perfect length and I find that its workmanship provides the right spring when grabbing food with it.When I got it and looked at it and held it in my hand it instantly put a smile on my face.I will use the spoons in my everyday cooking and the thongs for grabbing,turning noodles or grabbing my steamed vegetables,the honey dippers of course I ll use to deep into my honey for my herbal teas.

I had no idea how difficult it is to find just plain ol' wooden spoons until I had to replace mine. Everything available these days seems to have a varnish type finish on it, or metal handles (examples from two recent purchases). Nothing I want touching my food.These 3 items are PERFECT. Plain wood, solid, and well made. A quick scrub under running water, and then wiping them down with vegetable oil once they were dry, and they are exactly what I was looking for.

To me, it’s not thin enough to flip a egg. I wish they would make it thinner, then I would love it. Right now it’s just another wooden spatula.

These definitely need to be hand washed but otherwise they're perfect. They're excellent for cooking with and exactly what we needed to keep from scratching our pots and pans. I doubt they would hold up to several trips through the dishwasher, definitely handle with care utensils.

I was looking for something to flip crepes. I found this spatula and thought I would give it a try. It is really perfect in every way. Perfect length, feels great in the hand, and has a nice thin edge to flip the crepe (or pancakes etc.). Would not hesitate to buy the full set or more of just these spatulas to give as gifts especially since they come already wrapped!
