A Must Read
This is a really good book. If you live in the kinds of houses so prevalent in the UK that were built between 1920 to 1950s then this is the book for you. It tells you a bit about the history as well as the construction and the likely features you need to be aware of and how best to tackle them. Invaluable if, like me, you're not a builder but need to have an idea of what to look out for in these houses.

Very informative. Good research references.

Good in parts but not comprehensive
Detailed in parts but lacking detail in other respects. A reasonable overview if you're a novice.

A fantastic high quality book.
Wonderful book. I gave it to my father in law as a present and he loves and remembers these houses very well. He loves the book. Perfect service from Mill House books. I couldn't pick it up in time from the post office so as soon as it was returned to them, they pinged it straight back to me.

Perfect for anyone owning a 1930s house
Passed it to my son who was very pleased. I peeped in and thought it very appropriate. Covers all the pitfalls with good advice on extensions etc

Lots of good advice
First time I had to work on a 1930s house so this book has given me really good knowledge about the structure and possible ideas on how to enhance it. Love it!
