Be careful
This book is fantastic!I watched the movie so many times that I decided to read the book. And it did not disappoint.Just be careful if you decide to apply this yes principle for a few months of your life. Here's what I recommend before you just blindly say yes to any offer or opportunity:1. Can I get killed or injured someone?2. Can I go to prison?3. Does it compromise my morality?Have some personal boundaries BUT do it. You will come out of a life filled with people who can't wait to see you (just like in the book).

A story about a life changing challenge that you must read to belive
This books is just plain phenomenal. I came across it after noticing that one of my favorite movies (Yes Man staring Jim Carrey) was loosely based on it. I downloaded the Kindle version with minimal expectations and proceeded to devour it in just a few days. I loved every bit of this book. I loved the author's wit. I love the writing style - a brilliant blend of dialogue, narration and what is going on in his head. But most of all, I loved the story, which was all the more enjoyable and impactful knowing it was pretty much 100% true. This crazy "bloke" agreed to say "yes" to every suggestion that came his way for several months. As you can imagine, quite an adventure ensued. Crazy parties. Crazy hangovers. Crazy career changes. Crazy travels to crazy corners of the earth. Crazy experiences with new and strange and wickedly interesting people. You can take in just the "surface level" of what occurred and it'll still be a great and entertaining read. But underneath that are some of the greatest spiritual lessons anyone can receive. By saying "yes" to what life sends our way, we open ourselves to opportunities and experiences that our feeble and fear stricken minds could have never imagined. All we have to do is let go of desperately controlling the path of our lives, and it will venture to levels and places that simply can be orchestrated intentionally. And, spoiler alert, it also turned into one hell of a love story that any Hollywood movie writer would kill to have dreamed up, which as a hopeless romantic at heart, was my favorite part of this book.

Hilarious, wry, outlandish, touching, warm and hopeful all at the same time
One of the greatest reading pleasures in recent years. I bought this book upon reading a review in EW, and was unable to put it down. Perhaps it's the fact that Danny and I are the same age (26) and both are at a crossroads at which we're unsure how to proceed with life and how to get the most of it, but I guarantee there's more to it.Danny Wallace, first of all, did a great job writing his year of saying Yes in book format. At once glib, crazy and wracked with confusion, Danny infuses every page with that indelible dry British wit.Yes, he wins the lottery; yes, he travels the globe; yes he meets a whole variety of unusual characters; yes, he goes to the boring coworker's party and winds up meeting a BBC exec who makes him a TV documentary star; and yes, it all comes off very believable and human. If you've ever been feeling disenchanted with the flow of modern life, if you have been wanting to take a stand and grab the reins of life (ironically in Danny's case, by letting life sweep him wherever it wanted) or merely want to read an account of how a simple change can give you new eyes to view the world, don't miss "Yes Man."My highest recommendations all around.

Say Yes More - Good Advice and a Fun Book!
The book's simple "say Yes more" theme makes for interesting reading, and is witty and funny, too. I don't like "self-help" books, but this book could be called one even though I don't think that is the author's main purpose. As I read along, I kept thinking of things that I have said "no" to. So when my son recently invited me out to the "father's weekend" at his fraternity, I was initially hesitant about consuming massive amounts of alcohol with (ahem) 20-years-olds and a group of dads reliving their youth. Not only did I say "Yes", as it was Dad's weekend, I brought along my 81 year old Dad, too! My Dad did NOT hesitate when I asked him to join me. We had a great weekend with the only damage a serious cold from drinking beer from communal cups during the "beer pong" father-son matches. And my father ditched me at midnight to see what "college bars" were like. He finally showed up at 1 AM, happy to have experienced the crowds at a 14,000 student college town. So, "say yes more" is good advice!

Enjoyable
I read this book after watching the movie and the two have very, very little in common! The book was enjoyable though, but I did find it a bit too long. Towards the end I was wanting it to just finish. On a positive note it did make me think about saying yes more often and being more open to new things - selectivity though, not like the author!

An Interesting Idea
After hearing an NPR interview with the author, I bought this book for the title - as a gift to someone I once nicknamed a "yes man" . Once it arrived, I realized that my friend was unlikely to ever read it, so I did before passing it along. I'm a smallish town female U.S. Baby Boomer and much of the book just didn't speak to me; however, there were bits of fun and treasures of stories tucked throughout. I especially loved his response to the ubiquitous scam of "my [insert African country here] father died and left a fortune that he scammed from government, I just need your help to get it out of the country."

Difficult to Find
This book is the first of his I read. After lending it to an ex-friend I struggled to find a copy. Then BLAMMO! The algorithm suggested it and I bought it. Hard cover.

Life changing
The movie with the same title changed my life at 20; this will change mine again at 28... for the better again, for sure

Maravilhoso
Dessa vez eu disse sim, comprei o livro e não me arrependo.
