Nice pale blue denim with a tan undertone. For denim, anything under 12 ounce per square yard is considered "light weight," which is the category that this product falls into (at 10 ounce per square yard).'The width is nice and wide (54" across).The fabric is 100% cotton, which does not have any elasticity to it, aide from that which is provided by the cotton fabric. 100% cotton denim will stretch a little if worn tightly, but it will feel somewhat stiff and uncomfortable.This is definitely denim. It is not chambray (which is a lighter fabric that looks like denim).

I’m really happy with this fabric! It’s a true light to midweight denim, and the color is exactly as pictured— a beautiful light blue. The fabric washed and dried beautifully without any issues. It has a nice feel to it and will be perfect for my sewing projects. I’m excited to work with it and would definitely order again.

Denim can come in various weights. I get that. I don't normally weigh my fabric stash to determine what is what. I usually feel it and know. Purchasing fabric online is challenging because I can't feel it on the screen.This is a lightweight denim fabric. It could be used for bottomweight clothing, tote bags, etc. It is not suitable as a substitute for true denim jeans.And it doesn't seem to have a stretch (not an advantage or disadvantage, just a fact.)

YU TONE Indigo Blue 10 oz 100% Cotton Denim Chambray Fabric,56 Inches Wide, by The Yard is exactly as described and I couldn't be more pleased:* Wide width (56")* A full yard in length* Medium weight cotton denim (10 oz)* Cut and packaged neatly.I plan to wash and machine dry it, and after shrinkage, make it into a pair of easy pull-on denim pants. Hopefully I'll have enough width after cutting out the pant legs for a separate waistband and pockets.

I did appreciate the warning that ordering 2 yards meant getting two pieces. I will be using this fabric for handbags and wallets so 1 yard pieces will work for me. Since it is about 56" wide, I might be able to piece jeans. Would struggle with a shirt for a larger size adult. Kids, would be great. On my saved list and would recommend this. This is a light washed denim as pictured.

Nice lightweight denim. No stretch at all. Finished edges at the selvages. Light in color.

This is a lightweight denim, though it's certainly not chambray. It comes in a 1-yard cut and is light enough for me to make clothes for American Girl (18") dolls.
