Two for one!
Although this little book was last printed in 1993 it is a good book to have if you are an embroiderer. Each double page is dedicated to a stitch. One side to show how to make the stitch and the other side has a photograph of a finished piece of work incorporating the stitch. So you get two for one. Illustrations showing instructions to create the stitch and many examples of finished crewel work embroideries. Also at the the back you get outlines to trace. This is a great little boo and handy to carry around.

Excellent !
Nearly 100 colour pictures of designs and with an example of very clear pictures of the stitches used, on the facing page. For all the patterns at the first half of the book, there is a template of each pattern to trace at the back of the book. Cannot recommend highly enough, although not a big book.

Good handy dictionary of stitches, plus lots of projects to do.
Excellent little book, laid out in alphabetical order of stitches, so easy to find them when referencing. The thread numbers may not match exactly with todays Anchor thread codes, but I found a supplier online that had the book codes listed.

Great little book, great price
I purchased as I like the Anchor series - the price was good and the book is small - great for carrying about to groups etc.

Great little book...
A superb little book - well worth getting hold of it if you want to make a start on crewel embroidery. Some nice images at the back to copy for practice.

Great wee book
Great wee book. Very clear instructions. Lots of trace offs in the back to get you started. My only complaint is that the photographs could be a bit larger and the stitches within the project identified. Great as a complete beginner to crewel work. Would recommend very highly.

traditional guide
This is a very useful little book for anyone who enjoys cruel embroidery, especially if you like the traditional patterns. The colours are an excellent guide and can be interchanged between patterns. The instructions are clear and concise. Well worth having.

Fabulous little book!
Fabulous little book. It might be small (about 5"x5" or so) but its packed with stitches and patterns. I have many crewel books and embroidery books and crazy as it may seem, this is one of the best! easy to understand and follow along. What i love most is the small motif's for stitching. A great reference book stitch patterns and can easily be worked into other projects when your stuck for ideas.
