CHRISTOW Garden Parasol Umbrella Polyester Canopy Steel Sunshade With Crank Handle

I bought this parasol after my old parasol snapped in the wind. My husband put it up and this seemed to be a straight forward process. It is large so provides a good level of shade. It is also attractive and is good quality. It doesn't tilt but I was unconcerned about this. When a parasol is tilted, it tends to swing about in the slightest breeze and this is how my last parasol got broken. As a result, I was quite happy this didn't tilt. Please note that you will need to buy a base to use with the parasol. A lightweight base will suffice if you intend to insert the parasol through the centre of a patio table. However, if you intend the parasol to standalone, you will need a heavier base in order to provide stability. I bought a base which can be filled with water or sand thus making it nice and heavy. Please also make sure that you buy a base which fits the parasol as I found that my old base did not fit this parasol and I was forced to buy a new base. All in all, this parasol was a good buy and I am happy to recommend it.

I bought the beige/stone one so that it will not change much in colour when the sun bleaches it as it did my green one.It very good quality and looks stunning. It has an open flap part at the top so that the wind can go through so much more steady than the normal ones. Nice thick pole great value, really pleased with it.I have mine through a hole in the middle of a Rectangular table for 6, covers the table but not the end chairs which suits me fine. Under my table is a heavy metal umbrella holder which holds it tight.

Make sure you get the right size !!!!I’m a bit useless with measurement, got a large which was too big and I was unable to return as packaging was damaged. Bought another as I like the product and it was too small ....my fault !!Make sure you check the size,makes a difference in a small garden.

I needed a small garden parasol to use over a bistro table on a patio. At 2metres this is perfect. I also didn’t want to spend too much. Great value but looks good. Just what I wanted. Was delivered very promptly

It looks great and is very smart but I can't believe how easy it has been to assemble. From getting it out of it's box, in three minutes I'd clicked it into place, cranked up the sun shade umbrella and sat beneath it with a cup of tea! And I'm 77 and disabled! Well done Christow!!

Just what we needed for our compact garden, a compact parasol. Arrived earlier than I had hoped, which was a bonus. And so, so easy to construct, just the two parts. Slot together and it's done! The grey colour is much nicer than our cream previous shader. Thoroughly recommend!

Purchased a tilting version of this last year thinking it was a good idea. I was wrong! As others have observed, when tilted, it becomes unsteady due to uneven weight distribution and it also catches any breeze like a sail. This puts considerable stress on the hinge and led to it’s premature failure without the parasol even falling over. It didn’t even last the summer sadly.So went back to this ‘non tilting’ version. It looks well made and of good quality. Everything works as it should and the pole fits our existing stand.

This is the perfect garden umbrella. I have always had to struggle when wanting to open up a garden umbrella so this year thought that I would try making things easier for myself by getting one with a handle/crank. Its so so easy to open and only takes a minute. Highly recommend this item.
