A counted cross stitch pattern of Mexican peasants weaving a corn stalk into a cross and decorating it with tulips and daisies. Children are placing flowers and other offerings and a woman kneels with them. All are dressed in white. Behind them is a field of corn stubble and behind that cacti and Joshua trees. Corn is traditionally an important staple in Mexico and the festival was originally to worship the corn goddess but it eventually became blended with Catholic worship.
