We watched this season during the winter holiday.Unlike myself, my husband considers this show boring because 1) nothing explodes 2) every episode has a formulaic setting that never changes.I find Season 6 as appealing as the other 5, on the same level as comfort food. The beautiful scenery, the predictable format, the lack of intense personal drama/bickering is what I like most about this show.I liked the old cast members, and was sorry to see them leave, but I also like the new additions.

Still going strong!!!!
The gang is back and so is murder!! Death in Paradise NEVER disappoints with beautiful scenery, thrilling mysteries and wonderful chemistry amongst the cast. Since discovering this series a couple of years ago, I've become a true fan who eagerly awaits each new season...although there have been numerous cast changes, the show continues to spotlight the TRUE star: the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie and her people and customs. Like many British TV series, this show is filmed on location on the island of Guadeloupe and the director has even managed to capture the sense of island weather and heat (or maybe I'm able to sense that because of my years of hell on the Florida coast...lol).This season presents the viewer with yet another major cast change: DI Humphrey Goodman finally finds true love and decides to return to London (this decision is made after a two episode storyline set in London and introduces Humphrey's replacement, DI Jack Moony). My only complaint is that there is not enough of Harry the Lizard, my favorite character. Fortunately, it has been announced that the gang will be returning for a 7th season!!!

Floor plans on the murder board! It's about time!
I don't care how many new inspectors they bring in as long as they keep my favorite character: the Shack! Also the Commissioner (I have a massive crush on him), Catherine, and Dwayne. Some of the murders in this season were real eye-rollers, plot or motive-wise, but it's the Shack, the island, and the members of the Saint Marie Police Department that keep me watching. But I still miss Ben Miller and Camille. I wish they could have got it on just once.I'm back on to say I really like the new D.I., Jack Mooney. He has a disarming interrogation style, very charming. I can't wait for Season Seven to show up in DVD.Is the Shack getting larger with every new inspector? It seemed to be barely one room when Ben Miller was the inspector; when Humphrey came onboard I started noticing a pretty complete kitchen, and now D.I. Moone has found a hitherto unshown room, large enough to be a bedroom.

Sunshine, beautiful beaches and tropical foliage!!! AND murder! What could be more fun?
Family, friends, and I all love this detective series! It is funny, clever, and has a very engaging cast of characters! We and a friend get together for dinner and the "show" each week--we'll be soooo sad when we come to the end of the season, though I have heard that there is a season 7 on the way. I hope it will be available for purchase on DVD, as the actual show (British) is not aired right away on PBS or BBC America! We have been watching this show in the Pacific Northwest over the Winter--a time of short gray days and looooong dark nights! The hour spent on the mythical St. Marie Island, sharing in the solution to catching an assortment of villains, is a real remedy for Seasonal Affective Disorder! :]

Love the series but NOT the current inspector (since season 6)
Love this series but having to adjust to a 3rd (technically a 4th) Inspector in 6 seasons is a bit irritating particularly since I liked Richard Poole the best but Humphrey was quite good. Not so sure about this next guy. We'll see....Update. As of July 2019 the "post Humphrey" inspector is still with the series and most all other characters have been changed and I don't mind the changes for them (excluding the niece of the commissioner !) I'm still waiting for them to kill off this current inspector as he is my least favorite inspector and indeed character in this series. Love the series but not the current inspector! It's about time...

Some nice personal plot twists
The plots continue to be fun, and the character chemistry is palpable, while the comic relief is still in full force. SPOILER alert: Humphrey finally finds true love and the new Irish DI is a hoot, from the accent and vocab to his own set of quirks. I do hope they'll let him stay put for more than just a couple of seasons. We gotta get him to marry Catherine or something so he stays on the island.....

Great show!
Love this show. It's simple and very British but has very interesting storylines and very good actors. When the first leading actor left the show I was not very happy, usually the replacement isn't going to do as well and ruin the show. Fortunately this was not the case and Kris Marshall did a great job replacing the lead detective. The show is funny, and has very interesting plot lines that easy to follow, but fun to watch how they come to the conclusion and get "their man/woman" in the end!

Continues to deliver
I have enjoyed since episode one. I was apprehensive when Ben Miller left but when I read the reason for his departure I was open to new Detective. Kris Marshall did not replace him but admirably made his own place in Ste. Marie. Then I read that he is leaving and thought oh great it can only go downhill now. I was happily proved wrong. Ardahl O'Hanlon is utterly delightful as the new head of Ste. Marie's police force. Looking forward to many more murders solved.

Watch the deaths become background
Seasons one and two of "Death" were quite good; the cast changes in three through five kept interest, though the mysteries (and the writing) went down a familiar slope. Six is quite trite. Not one "mystery" though the secenery is lovely and incredibly varied for a fictitious tropical islet. I've never been on Guadeloupe, but it appears as lovely as those I've visited.

This is a masterful TV series that is funny as well as clever with characters that you can't help fall in love with even though the lead has now changed 3 times.. One of my all time favourites and I highly recommend it.

Very Happy
I love this show. Anyone who likes a murder mystery that is clean, and is set in the Carribean. I have all the other seasons too.

Beautiful scenery for the Arctic temperatures in evidence this week
Beautiful scenery for the Arctic temperatures in evidence this week.Humphrey is his usual "bumbling, well meaning" self regarding his girl friend.Surprise towards the end, and an introduction to a new leading character.
