Works as expected
This adapter was a lifesaver during my recent trip to India. It was compact and lightweight, making it easy to pack in my suitcase. The built-in USB ports were a convenient way to charge my phone and camera, and the grounded outlet provided peace of mind. I highly recommend this adapter to anyone traveling to India or other countries that use Type D plugs.

NOT for UK to South Africa like the packaging and original description said.
We really liked the concept of this plug adapter and the many different ports that it had on the front and all around the side. It seemed the perfect solution for our holiday. UNFORTUNATELY, despite the original description stating it was UK to South Africa and the box saying clearly it is UK to South Africa Plug Adaptor (see photos) it is not. The plug pins are different from our other UK to South Africa plugs, so it is completely useless to us. We still thought the concept was good and would have loved to have received the UK to South Africa version.

Type D NOT Type M, Max 5A/6A NOT Max 13A
There does seem to be a lot of confusion around regarding the difference between Type D and Type M plugs which is not helped at all by sellers/manufacturers such as this getting it wrong. This is a Type D adaptor NOT a Type M.The confusion appears to come from them both having 3 round pins, however if you had both together in person you would soon see the difference in pin diameter, spacing and length. If though you see either plug type in a photo out of context without getting a sense of scale it is hard to know which type you are looking at. I have attached a diagram showing the dimensions of both types. It is also quite misleading that Type D is often described as Indian and Type M as South African as both these countries actually use both Type D and M. The smaller pin Type D only supports 5A/6A (depending on the country) whereas the larger pin Type M supports 15A. Type D is only suitable for smaller lower powered devices and is more likely to be found in hotels, whereas higher powered appliances will require a Type M socket. None of the countries that use Type D or M has the same level of standardisation as we have in the UK, so it is best to be prepared and take both a Type D and M adapter with you.Rather worryingly on the front (UK side) of this adaptor there is - in very small barely noticeable text - a warning that this adaptor is ‘MAX 13A’. This is potentially very dangerous as being Type D the socket into which it will be plugged will only be rated for 5A/6A (~1.4kW). If you plugged a 13A (~3kW) appliance into this you could burn out the socket/wiring, which would be even more dangerous in countries where electrical standards are not as rigorous as the UK and the type of instant circuit breakers we are used to may not be fitted. The irony here is that this is a nicely made adaptor that feels decent quality and if it had been correctly advertised as Type D, Max 5A/6A, rather than Type M, Max 13A I’d have probably given it 5 stars. As it is though this is not as described and potentially unsafe.

Great quality with multiple uses
Great design and build quality.13A rated.Versatile item with sockets for standard plugs, shavers, toothbrushes, phones etc.I tried it before going on my trip (with a universal adaptor) and everything works as it should.USB A phone charging is fast when charging 1 device but the charging is shared when charging multiple devices through the USB A sockets. There is a small red light to show when it is energised.CE and UKCA markings are included.

Very nice design
This plug adapter will work in both South Africa and India, and is an excellent compact way to charge lots of devices in either country while travelling. I have tested this in the UK using an SA-UK adapter and it works fine (the voltage in South Africa is 230V at 50Hz which is near enough to UK 240V 50Hz that you just need the adapter. An explanation is needed on plug sizes though... there are two main types of 3 pin socket in South Africa - D and M. D is old UK plug and M is identical in design but quite a bit smaller. This device fits an M type socket. Most sockets in South Africa have a combination of M and D, as well as C and N, just to add to the confusion! The device itself has a load of connections... 2 3 pin UK sockets, two USB-A (rectangular) sockets and one USB-C oval socket. Underneath there are two shaver sockets as well. The maximum rating for this is 10A (at 250V) so it's fine for as many chargers and devices as you need, but don't start overloading it with big heaters etcOverall, I really like the design of this - I visit South Africa a lot and take more adapters than I would like to. This will help me travel a bit lighter.

Not Compatible With South Africa
This is type D plug - Looks similar to South Africa's round, 3-pin plug, but it's not the same thing. Not at all.Branding, instructions, etc. all says this is for South Africa. It is not. It is for China and not South Africa. Please avoid. I am most disappointed.
