uvex Race 7 - Cycling Helmet - Trekking/City/Road Bike Helmet - Ultra-Lightweight, Optimal Ventilation, Custom Sizing & Enhanced Safety

This is my 3rd UVEX bike helmet and it's always light and durable.

Unpacking the uvex Race 7 cycling helmet, the first thing that struck me was its sleek black matte finish which gave it a premium feel. The helmet felt exceptionally light, almost surprising for its size. Straight out of the box, the quality of craftsmanship was evident, aligning with the 'designed in Germany' ethos of the brand.The main features, like the 2k IAS sizing system and FAS strap system, allow for a highly customizable fit, which I found to be intuitive and user-friendly. Adjusting the helmet to my head size was straightforward, and the monomatic lock clicked reassuringly into place with a one-handed push.Ventilation is often a make-or-break aspect of any cycling helmet, and the uvex Race 7 does not disappoint. The 25 air vents provided excellent airflow, making it very comfortable even on long, hot rides. The double inmould technology, combined with the roll-over bar, reassured me of my safety, and thankfully, I never had to test its impact resistance.When compared to other helmets in the same category, the uvex Race 7 stands out for its ultra-lightweight design and custom sizing options. However, it's the attention to safety features that really sets it apart. Price-wise, it sits comfortably in the mid to high range, but the value is justified by the high level of protection and comfort it offers.The top positives are its lightweight design, superior ventilation, and enhanced safety features. In terms of improvements, some might find the design too simplistic if they prefer a more aggressive aesthetic.In summary, the uvex Race 7 is a top-notch helmet that provides excellent safety, comfort, and ventilation. It's ideal for serious cyclists across trekking, city, and road biking who value a helmet that's both light and secure. Given its features and performance, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality cycling helmet.

It is light at 240 g (there are lighter helmets, but not by a lot) and very well ventilated for hot weather. It has some typical Uvex features such as a cushioned chin strap with a push button release. The adjustments are all easy and intuitive. I think it looks real good on and is a great fit for my oval shaped head. It looks like this is a 2019 model design, recently replaced by the Race 9, and hence the good price. As another reviewer mentioned this helmet does not have MIPS, and Uvex doesn't appear to be a big believer in the technology, as neither does the Race 9. Fit is also important, however, and this one almost seems like it was designed for my noggin. I like the look and fit, as well as the weight and ventilation much better than my more expensive helmet with MIPS, and will be sure to use it frequently.

This bicycle helmet looks just like the product photos. At first, I was concerned that it wouldn’t fit, but i just needed to adjust the head band and straps - and it fits securely and comfortably. I really like the head band adjuster, which you can easily spin with one hand while wearing the helmet - gives quite a bit of adjustment. I also like being able to release the chin straps with just one click of a button (one-handed). The straps are strong, easy to clip/unclip, and not too difficult to adjust - and nice removable padded sleeve covering the chin strap.You can tell that a lot of thought was put into the design of this helmet in regards to safety and convenience.

I ride a gravel bike approximately 50-60 miles a week. Most of my riding is done on bike paths and city sidewalks. I always wear a helmet and have a number of them. To be honest they all seem to be pretty much the same. I am sure there are helmets that cost $100's of dollars that are superior but for the average biker, they all tend to be quite similar. This helmet is no different. It seems to be well made, well ventilated and nice fit and finish. Pretty comparable to the others I have. I recently purchased a helmet from a bike store and this particular model tested is approximately 1/3 rd more in cost. Not sure this would be worth more or the cost difference is worth it.

The helmet is very lightweight and you can barely notice you are wearing it. The strap is adjustable by the chin and on the back of your head to adjust accordingly. To be honest the material of the helmet does feel cheap to the touch but it is surprisingly sturdy. I had a fall a few days ago on my e-bike going about 25mph because someone cut me off and I can say that it would have been pretty bad if I didn’t have the helmet on since I hit my head and then rolled on the ground. It’s not how I wanted to test it but I’m glad I had the helmet on. It protects very well, I can personally attest to that so I highly recommend the helmet.

This UVEX Race 7 cycling helmet is extremely lightweight. The design of the helmet keeps visibility completely open without obstructing peripheral visibility. The strap mechanism is easy to adjust and the clip is designed as to prevent pinching yourself. The helmet has many generously sized vents and keeps my head extremely cool! Although it may seem a bit pricy at almost $100...the helmet is worth every penny. Having worn several helmets over the past years i highly recommend this one.

Great fit, great protection tech, and it’s attractive as well! Great colors and very comfortable. I have being using it for 100km right now and I must say it's a superb helmet. My head is bold and it ajust right enough to keep it in place without giving me any issues. On hard trails it keeps on its place and doesn't moves around my head. Air vents are enough to keep my head with air keeping it fresh. On climbings if there's no air probably comes a bit warmer but without having an uncomfotable filing.
