Satco SF77/394 Incandescent Portable Plant Lamp, 60 Watts, Alloy Steel, Black

I've been building up a houseplant collection in a corner of my bedroom. These lights have worked well to keep plants happy in a place I shouldn't be able to, especially once paired with timers to turn them off and on at regular intervals and mounting them on the wall at appropriate distances from the plants. The first three were purchased without a hitch. The fourth, recently arrived with nearly $11 postage due. The unopened box containing an item that my invoices showed free shipping for got returned to sender. We'll see how things go from here.

This year I put some new Halloween decorations in the front foyer. I put vinyl appliques on the front door glass, so the decorations aren't plainly visible from the street. I played around with a desk lamp and determined that some accent lighting would help. I purchased two of these to use as temporary lighting fixtures with some LIFX+ bulbs I had laying around.Packaging/Build QualityMy fixtures arrived as two inner-pack cardboard boxes in an Amazon outer box. The packaging did not look like the clear plastic enclosure pictured in the item photos - though I prefer the cardboard. The fixture is unremarkable, and nearly indistinguishable from many other similar items on Amazon (I selected it based on my prior experiences with the Satco brand). The construction and finish quality is fine - no sharp edges, no uneven paint. The cord is a little short (6ft). The base has a little heft, but it is not that heavy. Overall, it's obvious that this is an inexpensive item.PerformanceThere's not much to say here. It's clear that the fixture is intended to house larger BR/PAR type bulbs, but it also workswith the A19 LIFX+ bulbs that I have. The adjustment clamp works fine. Some have mentioned the clamp material (plastic), but it's really not an issue.ConclusionIf you're in the market for an indoor spot fixture that uses A19 base bulbs, this will work for you. I don't really think that any of the finishes are all that attractive for display, but that's not a problem if you plan on tucking them away behind furniture, an indoor plant, etc. If you need more than one, please note that Amazon sells multi-packs (I didn't know that, oops). Recommended.

I was hoping I could mount this to the wall but - although the light is highly adjustable - couldn’t seem to get the angle I wanted so I decided to mount to the ceiling. It was a bit of a challenge to make it stay flush to the ceiling (because the mounting hole is not designed for that, it is situated off center), but I made it work and for the first time I’m able to enjoy my Christmas cactus in a prominent (typically very dark and unsuitable for a plant) spot in my entryway. I would suggest getting a smaller bulb for it as the one I got sticks out a bit - which gives it less of a “spotlight” effect but I think the plant prefers the broader light.

Great price, quality, value but.....never use incandescent bulb as described in ad. Unit will heat up to "untouchable" quickly. Use only LED 65 OR 75 WATT BULB (floodlight style medium base). Can be purchased at local hardware store. In addition, because it was behind a 35" tall cabinet , purchased an inexpensive sturdy pedestal (29" tall) at craft store to elevate. works out perfectly esp with the early Eastern state sunsets. turned on at the unit but plugged into a wall light timer and works out perfectly. No fuss. Yes, I recommend this product - you will not be sorry

Only thing I wish it came in brown. Otherwise good enough for me.

Purchased for a friend to use inside her home behind a plant and wow it made a perfect glow of warm lighting. I am possibly going to order one as well

This was exactly what I wanted. I ordered the light to highlight or uplight a plant in a dark corner. Casts a beautiful glow on the ceiling, easily adjustable. Am planning on ordering another one. Good value for the money.This does not have motion detector capabilities.

This is a great inexpensive spotlight for the home. It lights up a dark corner and several wall ornaments and creates great ambience.

This makes a pretty up glow from the floor behind my large plant. I plugged it into the wall with remote sensor and put the remote on the coffee table. I can turn the light off and on from the couch and enjoy the light from what was once a very dark corner.

I used this product under a silk tree. Looks very dramatic! Exactly what I was trying to achieve!
