GENESA Total Amino Solution, 180 CT

I came upon this product while reading Dr Shealy's newsletter. Menopause unleashed in me terrible panic attacks, anxiety, depression and I was taking a few of the amino acid listed in Genesa and had so many bottles. This is great as they are all there and I have been feeling like I am back to my old self. I also recommend reading hope for your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes. I really though I was going nuts. Getting out of the house, driving, going into a store were becoming a challenge. I went to a naturopathic doctor who gave my a neurotransmitter test, and based on the results I supplemented with what was low, but I was not totally well. Anyhow this formula gave me all that I need, I add holy basil, busy Brain by rainbow light along with the understanding and practice from Dr Weekes' book. Dr Shealy's Eugesterone, youth Formula and Magnesium lotion. I am 95% better. I can function again, sleep at night and get out of the house without having to psyche myself and be drained from managing the anxiety and panic. When they talk about "the change" it is an understatement for me it has been a radical upheaval. Hope this helps someone out there.

I tried this as recommended in Julia Ross' The Diet Cure for severe endorphin depletion. It has taken a large dose of this plus a large dose of DPA for several weeks, but it is finally working. The dietary changes made a big dent in cravings, the DPA made another small dent, but the amino complex seems to be putting the nail in the coffin. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I came across this product through my nutritionist. Who suggested i try it for improving my mental well being and to support the sometimes difficult process of getting off an expensive commonly prescribed (some would suggest over prescribed) medication that I had been taking for a year and was ready to stop after consulting my perscriber. When i decided to taper off i bought a bottle and started taking it as prescribed " on an empty stomach, specifically avoiding taking it within 2 hours of eating protein. When used as directed i found my transition off the medication surprisingly easy and recommended it to family members who also deal with life. My whole family has tried it with positive results primarily in improving calmness, sleep and general mood improvement. While it's a bit pricey for my pocketbook, i find it among the top nutritional supplements i have ever used. I continue to use it as needed. I would recommend it without reservation to anyone dealing with the stress, global (or personal) depression,or to improve or stabilize a calmer more genial mood. It is crucial to take as directed, ideally on an empty stomach or with a bit of fruit only. As it states on the direction panel, some times it's necessary to take up to 3 times the "normal dose". It took me a while to find the right dose and then was able to drop down to a few capsules twice a day.

So, far...so, good. I have always wanted to take & believed in amino acids. I've been taking for about 2 months, and feel fine. I haven't had any extremely noticeable changes, but I have begun to titrate down with the psych meds, and no negative reactions so far. I do realize that many of us with bipolar DO can go years without an episode, so its quite tough to accumulate research on how well the aminos work, but I'm certainly willing to give a try for at least 6 months to a year, in order to get off some of the synthetic psych meds that have so many negative side effects, such as weight gain, serum osmolality problems with too high potassium readings, and low sodium (with Trileptal), and others.One thing I will say, this is a VERY expensive price for these supplements, which are already expensive enough, every 20 days or so! Look around, as you can find them for about $44 per bottle or less, if bought in quantity. I'm not opposed to people making profits, but come on, $15 per bottle MORE than what you can typically find in price for these?? Geez, there's always someone...
