Worked perfectly from Day 1
This is an amazing product. I love how easy it is to put on and take off the bike, and that I can use it as a leash, or to tie my pup up wherever it is we've biked to. My 1yr old cattle dog/shepard mix had never run with a bike before, and had it down pretty much perfectly the very first time we used it. The day it arrived, I took my dog out for a walk with the bike first, starting with the bike on my far side, then walking it between us. Then we went to a park with a center path, and she ran freely along side me in the grass next to me riding my bike, trying to keep up, Then after she was all tired and comfortable with the bike, I hooked her up with the doggerjogger, and she had it! We went home from the park via side streets without any problems whatsoever. My pup still gets excited and pulls when she first sees a squirrel or a cat, but the low attachment to the bike means that it doesn't pull me off balance even a little bit. It allows me to exercise her at 5am before work, when I just can't take her to the dog park. I've had this product for about a month, and I couldn't be happier.

THIS THING IS AMAZING! I've taken my dog
This, is the real deal. I had been searching for a long time, and looking at youtube videos on different "bike leashes." I found this while looking at the one that attaches to your seat via a rigid pole.Ok. THIS THING IS AMAZING!I've taken my dog, Max (Maximus... Cairn Terrier mix... high energy) out several times. The first two times, we went very slowly, mostly due to my nervousness. He took to it like a fish to water. Seriously, he was trotting along side at a faster clip than I could ever hope to maintain without a bike. I switched gears until I found one that I could keep a good RPM on the bike and that he seemed to maintain easily. Once that was done, we went a half mile.Second time? Same thing. We were off and he was loving it. The third time, we ran into some dogs, and he lunged. Not even a tremor in the bike. The leash seemed to auto correct him, and we were past the danger. We passed a few more dogs on that ride, and he just kept trotting.I'm sitting from our third trip, and I was able to go 3 miles with him before my gf finished 1. Max is happy and tired, and I am glad I found something that works so well.Setting up: Takes all of 20 seconds. Honestly. And what I love about it is you can detach it, and put in your pocket, or hang it up.The instructions say collar, or harness. I will say, Max much prefers the harness. I would suggest a non training harness for spazzy dogs.I will update in a few months, if I remember. Get this thing if you are even remotely interested in walking your dog via a bike. It's making walks much more enjoyable. If you think your dog will pull you off the bike? Can't happen. The physics simply don't work.

Solid construction, easy to install, works great!
This bike-leash is well made, and works very well. The instructions are easy to follow, and there's even a video on the DJ website that shows clearly how to adjust the "breakaway" mechanism (must-do!) for your dog's weight. The leash attaches to either side of your bike, so you can adapt to various settings and conditions. I attached it in seconds, and away we went. My dog knew immediately where to trot, and the moderate pace we established kept her focused on the road, not distractions. At one point, she tried to stop, resulting in a mild jerk of the leash, but not enough to disturb me (and I'm a mature, wobbly rider). Since she's a mature dog and not used to sustained trotting, we're slowly building her range, so she enjoys the experience and doesn't get over-tired or sore.

My Dog and I love it!
Overall an awesome product and design. However there are a few things I've learned in using it for a couple months and want to share for your dog and your safety and will be contacting the company tomorrow as well. Just so you know, I have a 67lb Catahoula who is 11months old and very strong. 1st issue is the breakaway feature which is supposed to be a safety feature. Bad idea! Not very safe when your dog breaks loose at a stop light to chase a dog in a car down the middle of a busy street. Luckily people were cool and stopped their cars until I could get him but there was no way to hook him back to the leash since it was broken which was a problem. Solution was to cut all the velcro off and sew it back to together so it will never come apart and risk my dogs life. The whole idea of a leash is to keep your dog on it and keep them safe. 2nd issue and something to be aware of is that when you stop the bike be sure to put your foot down on the side opposite of the jogger. He suddenly stopped one day to check a scent, I put my foot down on the jogger side, stepped on top of the jogger which pulled me, the bike and my dog down in a second. I landed on my back with my dog under the bike who was now entangled and guess what, the breakaway feature didn't work in the entanglement situation. 3rd issue is the clasp on the pedal attachment which is very cheap. He simply pulled a bit to say hi to a dog and bent the clasp open which rendered it unusable. Solution was to buy a good clasp, cut the stitching and sew it back together. I used dental floss for all the stitching as it's super strong and waterproof. With these 2 improvements I now have full confidence in this product and hope the company will remedy these problems to help keep our dogs safe. Other than that it's probably the best product out there for hooking your dog to a bike and having some fun. Only problem is that I don't get much exercise since he is so strong and fast that I don't even have to peddle. Cheers, Scott AHi All, it's Scott again. Just want to give an update now that my awesome dog Ranger is almost 3. Talked with the inventor of Dogger Jogger about these issues soon after posting this review and he was great. He explained the legal reasons for having the break away feature and the lightweight snap hook which all made sense. Super nice guy who kept offering a refund or replacement in the way of making things right which I greatly appreciate and enjoyed our conversation. Been using the same one as first purchased with the same above modifications (except for having to put on an even stronger snap hook on the pedal attachment because Ranger broke that one too as well as breaking the end off the pedal, damn he's strong) and it's been great ever since. Don't know what I'd do without this contraption to keep Ranger happy. My wife and I both ride with him about 5 miles daily and it's so easy to swap from bike to bike. He is a bag of muscle now and a very happy dog that could be a top notch sled dog. Now that he inspired me to get a Giant talon 2 with 27.5"s he's even faster than ever. Dogger Jogger is the best thing out there for riding with your dog. Thank you Bill for your invention for dogs and their pets, you make us all very happy on a daily basis. Cheers, Scott A
