Adequate
It's fine. Like others, I found the bristles don't reach far enough into the coat to be effective at this point, but my Lab/Golden's longer fur is just starting to grow in, so maybe someday. The bristles all bent on one side when it was stored, I don't really care but be careful not to cram the brush up against something when you store it. I think it's an adequate brush for detangling, not necessarily for getting out lots of loose fur though.

Just what my pup needed!
My puppy is 9 months old and started shedding. He’s a Larger dog now and he has a hair type I’ve never dealt with. He’s a mix, but clearly has some golden retriever or at least that type of hair. So I looked up how to care for a retriever’s coat and one of the must haves was a porcupine type brush. I didn’t want to spend a ridiculous amount on something I wasn’t sure of, and I didn’t need an over priced fancy looking one either. The price was right in this brush, and it ended up doing an amazing job! I highly recommend this if you need this type of brush for your pooch.

Great for dogs with very thick longer hair.
I bought this brush for my border collie, which has longer thin hair, and the longer very stuff bristles keep the short close together bristles from even reaching her hair. If you have a dog with very thick hair like a Newfie or Great Pyrenees, or something with that type of really thick long hair, this would be a great brush, but for a regular medium/long thinner hair dog, not so much. Luckily, my sister has a Great Pyrenees, and she LOVES it for him. He likes to go roll around in the dirt and this really works well for getting the shedding hair out, as well as getting the dirt/dust out also.

More of a massage brush than a fur slicker brush, but my dog likes it
My dog (a Shiba inu) actually seems to like this brush. It doesn't seem to do anything for removing loose hair because the long bristles are so long that they keep the short bristles from hitting his fur, but he seems to like the feeling of it regardless.

This was a great value, does the job and fits nicely in my hand. The bristles were a little tweeked from travel to me, but that does not stop it from working just fine!

Okay, there are better
this brush is just ok. I use it and it wasn't expensive but the stiff bristles really don't move at all so it doesn't work as well as it would if they did. And if I'm not careful when I'm brushing their head it can thunk them slightly where there isn't a lot of fur or fleshy padding. But they don't complain to much to its use. A wire bristle brush on a flexible pad works a lot better though.

Meh
This really is only okay. My dog loves it because he likes being brushed but it doesn’t even get through his fur really if his fur is long. He’s a labradoodle and his hair is wavy not curly. If you have a dog with thick long hair this might not be what you’re looking for.

Great To Break Through Dried Mud
My lab mix has a short coat. Sometimes she gets mud caked on her and the soft bristle brush isn't stiff enough to break up the died mud. THIS brush does that easily and the small beads on the ends of the bristle keeps it from scratching her skin. Works really well.
