This is a must have book for anybody interested in Yemeni culture and art. Gracie's book illustrates an exquisite collection of Jambiya, the short dagger worn by men in the Yemen. The lavish photographs show the variety of these picturesque weapons with their beautifully ornamented sheathes and elaborate silver work. The author’s lucid commentary provides a valuable introduction to these ceremonial daggers which have been a part of Yemeni heritage for centuries. Gracie’s book is a joy and a valuable resource. I recommend it without reservation.
