Philips Avent 3-in-1 Electric Steam Sterilizer for Baby Bottles, Pacifiers, Cups and More

Love to sterilize because I'm a germaphobe with my kids. To be honest if I could I would probably sterilize everything and the great thing about this product is that you actually could throw just about anything in this to sterilize. It does say Avent but we use it for our Medella bottles and it works great. We also sterilize the baby pacifiers and some of my breast pump parts so it has a lot of room for it in the different levels. One thing to always remember with this though is to always use distilled water. I mean seriously ALWAYS USE STERILIZED water, not filtered because it might not always work. The metal plate on the bottom has a tendency to have a metal build up if you don't use sterile water. This is not that big of a deal but it says that it can affect the ability for it to sterilize your stuff if you don't keep the build up to a minimum. This is the second one I ever bought and this time I only use DISTILLED sterile water. It really makes a difference. No build up, and it's working great. We still have the old one that works but it's so yucky with all the brown build up I just can't use it because it looks so bad but like I said I'm a sterilizing freak so you can understand why the gunky brown stuff is such a turn off. Besides that, I love this product. It's the only one I actually trust to sterilize aside from boiling which takes much longer. The microwave sterilizers seem to work fine as well but I just don't trust microwaves, with the food and the possible leaching of plastics in the microwave, it just seems like there's more to worry about using those products. I feel safer using this product just because it uses a hotplate like device to heat the water and it's durable and usually lasts well over a year if you keep the hotplate clean.

Our daughter was born early and we wanted to do what we needed to for her bottles to be clean. We purchased the avent brand for bottles and just thought we would follow suit with the sterilizer since we were in a hurry and really didn't know that much of what we were doing. We have been happy with our purchase and found ourselves always using the sterilizer and never transitioned to the dishwasher the entire time she used the bottles. The sterilizer has a basin at the bottom that takes a little water then has the large white holder that holds Avent's larger bottles, as well as all the smaller parts that can be used with or without the top clear holder. The clear top holder can be stacked on top the white part, used without the white part directly over the basin or put into the dishwasher; with the lid on it (needs to have the lid for the sterilization process but not dishwasher) it can hold the smaller avent bottles as well as all the small pieces to the bottles. The sterilizer only has the one on blue button, so if in those early weeks you accidentally turn it on out of exhaustion, you either have to let it run it's cycle or pull the plug to stop it. Once you plug it back it, it will start where it stopped. The cycle is about 10 minutes long. Also for those early weeks, careful taking the lid off if you are waiting next to it to finish, it's hot, hot, hot! Pretty self explanatory with the "Steam Sterilizer," but those every 3 hour feedings I was not thinking and may have burned my wrist a little with the hot steam coming out!

This sterilizer is easy, quiet and does the job! We used the microwave sterilizers before this, and I hated having the microwave running for 8 minutes for every cycle, and then having a huge pizza-pan sized plastic dish taking up an entire counter or cabinet when stored away.Pros: The footprint isn't huge, so it doesn't take up the entire kitchen counter, but you can get a lot of bottles and pumping supplies in this thing because it's so tall and has two compartments. The sterilizer is easy to use, just pour water up to the mark, load it up and push a button. No guesswork. The best thing about it is that it's absolutely quiet!Cons: I'm splitting hairs here, but the cord is really stiff and kinda difficult to route neatly. Philips supplies a way to wrap the cord under the unit with little cutouts to bring the cord out from the bottom, but I found it somewhat pointless as the cord was either too short to plug in, or so long that it defeats the purpose of taking the time to route it neatly. It will drive you nuts if you're OCD.

Es bue producto, muy costoso la verdad pero muy util tambien, hace bien su funcion, solo de conectarlo y presionar boton de encendido ya comienza a esterilizar rapidamente, hay otros q tardan un poco mas en hacer esta funcion, lo compre porque son muchas cosas q tengo para esterilizar y este va muy bien cuando sufres de eso, lo recomiendo solo en promocion asi como hice yo, ya que el precio normal es muy elevado para sufuncion, en mi opinion claro! Pero lo recomiendo

So glad we purchased this! Makes life so much easier.The sterilizer is easy to use, quiet, quick and does a great job. No more boiling bottles soothers etc in a pot!Easy to clean too. Once calcium buildup starts where you keep the water, it comes off easily with a bit of vinegar and baking soda.We have been using it for a while now and won't look back! I use same branded bottles and used their breast pump too. Its a great brand and worth the money. We use it once a day and it almost fits all our bottles. Doesn't take much room in the kitchen either.
