Swordfish40802 Latitude Sharpener Replacement Blade

After many years of using the Dahle sharpener in my job as an animator, recently it started to break the pencils and didn't sharpen to a point anymore.Thankfully, I found out that there was a replacement blade for this model. with this new blade, I hope to get many more years out of this excellent sharpener.

I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I was with this "professional" electric pencil sharpener. I am a teacher of Y2 children and I wanted a really good pencil sharpener that would withstand 30 children and a number of adults using it all the time. I already had one Swordfish pencil sharpener in the classroom which had cost about £28 and I'd been very pleased with it . The only thing was it hadn't got a powerful motor, so it over-heated relatively quickly. I decided to purchase what I thought was going to be a super dooper pencil sharpener that would really withstand lots of use. The first Swordfish "professional" I received never even reached the classroom. It did not sharpen the pencil equally, so the wood was only taken from one side, leaving it unuseable. It was also quite tempermental. Sometimes the motor would make a strange humming noise and refuse to sharpen the pencil at all. Thinking I had just been unlucky and had been sent a faulty one, I asked for a replacement. However, when the replacement arrived it was just the same. At this price you really do expect something that is going to do the job. As Swordfish profess to being the best, all I can say is they need to really improve this model.

I bought this product because it said it was for heavy duty use. It sharpens quickly and effortlessly and produces a sharp point. The motor cuts out after about 10 to 15 minutes of continuous use but this isn't a problem as you can still sharpen 75-100 pencils in this time (it takes about 5 seconds per pencil). The other advantageous of this model is the high capacity shavings tray which doesn't need emptying very often. It also has a safety cut out when the tray is removed so is perfect for classroom use.
