Lava lamp can very cloudy Not happy with product

Well the lamp part works, but the lava part has stayed cloudy and the lava doesn’t move up or down. I’m not sure what’s wrong with it.

Hard to get started, took a couple days of warming before any lava action. Hard to see pink wax through still cloudy purple liquid after more than 3 days.

I purchased this lava lamp expecting pink wax with purple liquid, as advertised. However, when it arrived, the box stated magenta wax and purple liquid—but the wax is actually red, not pink or magenta. This was disappointing, as I wanted the colors to match my setup. In addition to the misleading color, the flow of the lamp is poor, with movement that isn’t smooth or enjoyable. I ended up emptying the liquid and using it in a different lava lamp. Please note that the base shown is not the original. I used my own base because I thought the pink wax and purple liquid would complement it well. While the liquid is purple as expected, the wax did not match the advertised color. I ended up adding distilled water and blue food coloring, which gave it a different look. It made it clear that the wax was actually red, and I turned the liquid blue. I don’t know why Spencer’s website describes the wax as pink, and the box says magenta—neither of those colors match. The wax is clearly red, which is misleading.
