Mostly Solid Shelving Unit But Not For Heavy Items - More For Standard To Light Duty Storage
Like almost everyone else these days we needed more storage in order to better organize our garage. When I saw these shelves being offered for sale for a reasonable price I couldn’t resist. After putting everything together using the enclosed tools and instructions the shelving unit is solid, but not really for heavy or extra heavy items. I consider this to be a light to standard duty shelving unit. These shelves are nicely made and powder coated well so I expect them to last for a long time. The instructions are adequate, but not overly impressive. Included in the kit is a small plastic hammer to hammer the pegs into place. This is adequate, but I chose to use my more heavy duty plastic end hammer. Assembly went well and took me less than an hour to complete. After completion I could tell that it wouldn’t be wise to put my heavy or extra heavy items on the shelves as I saw too much lateral movement for my comfort. That’s fine and I’m using the shelves for light to medium weight items, such as electronic parts, car parts, shop towels, tools, etc.Overall I’m happy with the shelves though I would have preferred true heavy duty in the end. Considering the price I feel these shelves are reasonably priced. If you need medium to light duty shelves then this is a very good set to consider, thus giving it a four star rating.

Lotsa assembly required
This is a metal shelf that arrives in basic parts. To put together you need to assembly each level one at a time to everything put together. I'll admit I had to use a couple of C clamps because I only have two arms. Once it is put together and very tight it holds up, but pay attention to the weight limits since the metal shelves are formed sheets and not solid.

A Truly Handsome All-Metal Contemporary Rugged Adjustable Medium Duty 5 Shelving System
The package arrived and it weighed less than I expected given the carry weight mentioned in the description. This is a reasonable shelf for what I would consider medium weight loading on the shelves based on what I experienced when putting it together. The metal structural frame and shelves have a rather nice and scratch resistant “hammered metal finish” either painted or powered coated. It takes minimal tools to put it together as the assembly is more lock and key due to the ovals and connector lugs used. The frame is double rolled for strength, but, give the flex that I felt when put together it will take some weight on it to convince me of its HD capabilities.Relative to instructions I would have to say,“ light on instructions”, but, logic worked just fine. Putting it all together was easy, but took some patience with the wobble in the beginning. I like that the shelves are easily adjustable so it can be personalized to ones needs. It will take a rubber mallet to build these shelves but, be careful as it does take some force and force can damage your new shelves. Use a rubber mallet and not the tiny plastic hammer included. You get what you pay for and these metal shelves are more of a medium duty shelving unit. The finish is attractive and with the hidden keyholes have more of a stylish appearance than older and heavier built metal shelves. That the shelves are metal instead of wood or rack metal is nice, but they can dent and flex if loaded too heavily. On a price/performance basis I would have to give these shelves 4 Stars because I believe that they are less capable as HD shelves and more medium duty. They have a really nice appearance and until weighted down seemed a bit wobbly. Overall, a handsome looking contemporary all metal shelving system that one would be very happy with, but not what I would call Heavy Duty.

Easy to assemble
This goes together like warehouse scaffolding. It is sturdy once assembled. It took about 30 minutes to put together. I like that the shelf levels are easy to adjust as needed, again, like warehouse scaffolding.I recommend this.

Mostly Durable
I am actually using this indoors, for some of my aquascape tanks. The shelves are able to hold a decent amount of weight, and assembly was not overly difficult. The screws provided for wall anchoring are too small for the holes in the brackets. You will need washers to properly affix it (not to mention, better anchors would help).Probably the biggest complaint I have with these shelves is the little plastic joint pieces, that allow you to stack the 2 sections of vertical bars together. These are very fragile, and if you do not use one of the shelves in the exact center, they will break and fail. Even when applying a shelf in the center, they can still be disjointed. I tried tilting slightly to add some shims under the legs, but that was a bad idea. The shelf started buckling a bit at that spot.As long as you assemble these carefully and get everything set before trying to adjust/level, you should be fine. If the little plastic joints were metal, I would be much more comfortable with the durability of these shelves. For the price, these are still a good deal and the additional side bracing reinforces it fairly well. If you are in need of some semi-heavy duty shelving on a budget, these might be a good option for you.

Quick assembly, solid shelves
This shelf comes with a little plastic hammer to beat the pegs into place, though it says you should bring your own rubber mallet. It's so light I thought it would basically be useless, but I decided to give it a shot, and was actually able to fully assemble the whole shelf using only what came in the box, in maybe 30-45 minutes, with each rivet snug in its slot. With the shelves being steel rather than particle board, it's very solid now that it's together and I don't have to worry about moisture making them swell or warp. I'd call this a very good value among similar shelving.

Ok medium duty shelving
These are good at the price point/ convenient but could be sturdier. They still hold lots of wonderful garage clutter, though!

Not rugged nor heavy duty at all!
These arrived dented and lips bent. Very thin cheap metal. Junk! Pony up for better quality.
