Noted this Dorman part is "heavier" than original failed OE ring. Watych installation videos on: you-tube.

When I first got this part...I thought it was a wrong part. It looks bigger the the factory part. After researching it, it was correct...so pounded it on. It does not fit into the original grove like it should...but fits tight, and after full install, seems to work fine so far. The size must be designed to be more heavy duty. A bit thicker and wider than the old original part. Anyhow, for now it is working great.

Saved the day!What a cheap fix from what the shops want to fix these things!! Its crazy how they get away with what they do to people. So what I learned is ford escapes front toner break and ford explorers rear toners break both from excessive rust under the toner rings.I used the map gas torch and cleaned the hub with a wire wheel and used anti-seize on the before installing the toner ring with heavy duty leather gloves.When these things are broke, they cause lots of problems like ABS and TRACTION CONTROL. You find it with an app for your phone/tab and a mini Bluetooth obd2 tester. Its on you tube. The tester is about 12 on ebay mini elm 327 Bluetooth and car gauge pro will let you test the toners. You have to add the gauges to your phone one at a time until all 4 are shown, then drive and watch them . If any doesn't keep up with the rest, then that one is broken or the sensor is, but more likely the toner ring. You can also just get under your car and try to move the rings and if they do, then they are cracked. Thats the easiest/cheapest way to figure it out. If one side is, change both, the other will be broken soon enough.
