Very Happy With This Kit
I initially thought the price for this kit was a little high, but now that I have it, I feel that it was well worth the money. The tack puller tool has been improved, and now has a short (less than 2 inches long) metal shaft, and works just fine. I use this set to put tacks into, and pull them out of, Edmund's mini stretchers, and the tool that pushes them into the wood works well, not requiring a whole lot of force, and because it's magnetized, it holds the tacks while you're finding exactly where you want them to go in. I also like the fact that it came on a very sturdy plastic bubble card that you can re-use to keep the kit together, which can be hung on the wall so that you won't lose it amidst the clutter in your craft room. Very glad I bought it. The shiny gold tacks are attractive, too, and haven't had any trouble with those, either.

Great little set, handy tools!
These little tools are excellent for those who don't have the best hand/finger strength. I use these to help me attach cross stitch fabric to wooden stretcher bars. I use thumb tacks to secure the fabric. The tack pusher is perfect for getting the tacks to go all the way in the thin wooden bars, and of course the tack puller is worth its weight in gold! It pulls the tacks out so easily! No more ripped or ragged fingernails from trying to get at the tacks! Several of the tacks have bent and had to be tossed, but since tacks are so inexpensive, I'm not too concerned about that, the main thing for me was getting the 2 tools to assist with getting the tacks in and out of the frames! They were what I needed the most! The handiest things to have around for me! Excellent tools! The tack pusher is also magnetic, so it will hold the tack in place easier as you get ready to push it in. Less chance of it wobbling out of place! ;)

Great set!
This was for my first needlepoint kit, which happened to be a large and odd size (12x22). In my past cross stitch, I very rarely used hoops, and had no real need for stretcher bars, so I didn't know a lot about them, or scroll bars. I opted for the old fashioned stretcher bars and tacks. I don't know how much harder it is to use tacks without the pusher...but I can say with this tool, putting the tacks in was almost effortless. Haven't had to remove them, so I can't speak about the removal tool. But for my first experience using tacks for my needlepoint, this was an awesome set to start with!

Not so tacky tack kit.
This tack kit is the cats ass.The kit allows the installation and removal of upolstery type nail takcks, not thumb tacks for cork boards, although you could use it for that too.The installation tool/awl that they give you to put in the tacks is magnatized to hold the tacks while you push them in. The wooden handle is ergonomic in design so it fits the palm of the hand nicely, making it a natural extension of your hand. You could use this thing all day for upolstery work. The removal tool will do what it is designed to do, but in my opinion the handle is WAY too short to be truly effective for removing more than just a few tacks at a time, it is only four inches or so long. Same with the awl, it is a bit too short in length. This tool is designed to push in FLAT TOPPED upolsery nails and tacks. They give you a generous supply of short 3/8 of an inch long (6mm)tacks(or upolstery nails)with the kit, along with the AWL and removal tool. The tools are well made, with the exception that the AWL is designed for FLAT TOP tacks or upolstery nails. They SHOULD give you an adaptor to push in dome topped nails and tacks, which is how almost all upolstery tacks and nails are designed.Super Gluing a small, thin, 3/8 to 7/16 inch wide by 1/6 to 5/32 thick,O-ring to the magnetic flat head of the tool will allow the pushing in of dome topped nails and tacks. O-rings are available at full service hardware stores like ACE Hardware, where you can purchase individual screws and other hardware items, or alternatively, a package of O-rings.Degrease the head of the tool with a little rubbing alcohol or acetone first, and then glue the O-ring to the head of the tool with a very good commercial quality super glue such as Loctite brand precision super glue. This is the same stuff manufacurers use at the factory to glue togeather O-rings when they make them by hand, so it works extremely well on rubber parts. This adaptation will allow pushing in of dome topped nails and tacks, but then you might not be able to use it for the flat topped tacks. The kit is so cheap in price, buy two, and use one for flat topped tacks, and one modified tool for dome topped tacks and nails. This is an unbelieveable value for a good quality tool set.

Does the job.
I love the magnetized knob to place the tacks. The remover's tongues are not quite deep/long enough to work easily. I have a furniture tack remover that, while much bigger, works better.

The tools are great--the tacks are cheap and not very good. I ordered separate heavy duty quilting tacks
Had a quilting bee at my house and needed to put 15 quilts on and off frames in one evening. What a huge time saver. It was so much easier on my hands pushing in and removing lots of tacks. The tools are great--the tacks are cheap and not very good. I ordered separate heavy duty quilting tacks.

Excellent tool set
Really happy with this tool set. Works like a charm. The only negative is that the tacks bled yellow color on my embroidery piece when I sprayed the pice with water to block it. Beware of the tack's potential to bleed color.

simple elegant solution - love the magnetic tack holder!
Using a frame for the first time for a needlepoint project and was concerned about how to hold my canvas in place without risking distorting or staining the canvas. The Lacis Corjac Tack holder fits comfortably in the palm of my hand, the magnetic holder keeps your tack aligned properly when pushing it in to the canvas frame. Am expecting the tack remover will be as easy and effective to use as the holder.
