Probably the best HUD
I tried a few similar products and decided to keep only this one. It has its own problems but it’s the simplist solution to both Android and iPhone. For iPhone 8 and Mi Mix 2, it directly mirror the screen. But only iPhone can take the full screen via wireless. AirPlay from my iPhone is without noticeable lag but the voice sometimes is not clear. With Android miracast it won’t maximize the display. Maybe it is Mi Mix 2’s problem. It does allow you to connect a HDMI which I tried with Apple’s HDMI to Lighting port adapter. Both video and audio are at the best quality but it won’t take the full screen. I upgraded to 7.9.7 firmware. The back of the devices does have an extra USB port.

great item
works fantastic, i used a HUD that you placed your phone on top of it before and liked it, however this is leagues beyond that. to be able to cast everything from your phone or tablet to it, makes it much better. the integrated speaker is nice if your car does not have bluetooth, and the brightness levels let you see it even when out in the direct sunlight.

Better than OEM HUDs. Works great.
Great product. Does exactly what is says: mirrors whatever is on your phone - Waze, google. Apple maps. Whatever. Note that the base is a rubber-like pad that grips to the dashboard but does not use adhesive. If it loses its grip, run it under water to make it like new again. The quality of the display is excellent - it’s larger than I thought, which is nice. The way this product works is you connect your phone to the WiFi network the Hudly broadcasts, then turn on screen mirroring (on Apple iPhone, the Hudly appears as an available Apple TV to broadcast to). This setup allows the phone to continue to connect to your vehicle’s Bluetooth for audio and phone calls while sending the map to the Hudly. Updating the firmware on the Hudly was a bit kluge. You join your phone to the Hudly WiFi, as soon as you do that the Hudly displays it’s IP address. Bring up safari on your iPhone and connect to that IP. Then click the WiFi icon, join the Hudly to a nearby WiFi network. As soon as you do that, Hudly will prompt you to update the firmware if N update is available. Note that when it prompts you to “press the button to co firm”, they mean the small white button on the HDMI dongle that is plugged into the underside of the Hudly. Everything works as advertised and in quite happy with this product. It’s as good as any OEM HUD I’ve seen but is better in that you can use any mapping app you like (ie Waze).

Not worth it.
Our unit is back in the box, on a shelf somewhere. Had it in the car for a little while but it was just too cumbersome to use. First, it requires your phone be open and on their app at all times as it screen casts to the unit. The unit gets very hot, even without the sun shining on it. The base is too loose, making it impossible to keep level. It also steals the audio so you can’t stream to your car entertainment system while using it.Sooo, not at all like a built in HUD.

Wonderful when working, but MAY be fragile
First, a ground rule: do not expect a holographic-like image projected seven feet forward from any aftermarket HUD that I know of. That said, if the goal is to significantly reduce eye and head movement to see valuable driving information in a familiar format, this could be your ticket. Additionally, with the better position of the information added to no change in lighting when viewing that info (often nav systems are viewed in a darker interior environment), all coupled with being able to watch ahead with peripheral vision (which you cannot do when looking down) makes this HUD a genuine safety and convenience enhancement. This HUD provides a crystal clear image of a slightly enlarged phone screen directly in front of you (or angled if you prefer). And here is a critical point: it DOES stay bright enough for comfortable bright daytime driving. Final pro: easy install and connection. Any faults? Yes. Mine overheated, which clouded the clear image that had spoiled me. Then, the mount broke. I believe the mount issue was a fluke, so that did not bother me. I simply do not know if the overheating was also a fluke or if the design is fragile. I returned mine intending to try another one, but lo and behold, I happened to buy a Genesis with factory HUD.

Works fine
This Head Up Display is incredible! It works with my Iphone and with my Ipad installed in my car. Even the lighness is automatically - at night darker - at daytime brighter, The only minus point is, it doesn't work on USB Voltage - means your are not able to put it on a 2 amps 5 volts e.g. Anker USB plug. After asking for the nominal voltage Hudly just gave me a unusable answer. BUT!! On the plug there is a USB port which feeds the Ipad fine.

Wireless didn't work, wired worked, customer support is lacking
WIRELESSMy phone (Razer Phone 1) refused to work with the included cast dongle. I could connect to its WiFi network (but this means I couldn't use mobile data and took my phone offline) but casting did not work unless both my phone and the Hudly were connected to my home WiFi network, and even then only for a second or two at a time. Also, note that with most phones, the screen must stay on while casting or using a cable in order to display anything on the Hudly. This might not be an issue if you can charge your phone and cast simultaneously (for example, with a dedicated HDMI output or a multiport adapter that works).WIREDAfter emailing customer support about the issues I mentioned, I bought a USB-C to HDMI connector for my phone to plug directly into the Hudly instead of the included dongle. This allowed my phone screen to show up on the Hudly, however, with this level of difficulty, I ultimately returned it because it's not worth the price. Half the price, sure.SUPPORTCustomer support replied to me shortly after I got it working with an HDMI cable and the message simply said my ticket had been updated, but they did not actually send an updated message.
