Solidly built and it works!
I had a jar in my fridge that I haven't been able to open for weeks. I tried a variety of jar openers - human and mechanical - to no avail. The lid I was trying to open was about 4.5" - wide enough that you need a bit of grip and wrist muscle to move the lid. Nothing would make the darn lid budge. Then, I saw this jar opener and ordered it with fingers crossed.Features: I love that it can open small to large lids, from 0.2" to 5.3". The inner set of metal toothed grips is raised and shouldn't interfere with opening larger lids for which you'll need the outer grips. The teeth are steel and sharp, so keep tender fingers away and use caution while using. The plastic components are sturdy and transparent, so you can see what you are doing while applying a bit of elbow grease. You can tell by my 5 star rating that the obstinate lid in question gave way easily and with very little effort using this handy gadget. Yes, I am a Vine customer and recieved this product for free but it's a product that will be a staple in my kitchen. Even if it breaks, which is unlikely (but not improbable if I took a sawzall to it), I will absolutely replace it using my cash money. That is how handy this little thing is. I feel like a jar warrior with this in my hands, and all jars will yield to my opening power. Hear me ROAR!!!

Works well, but not dishwasher safe
I'm not that old, but the arthritis in my hands keeps getting worse and I'm finding it harder and harder to open jars without a lot of pain.I've always been the one who opens difficult jars for my family so if I can't open one, we're out of luck (and frankly I'd rather not have to ask for help doing a simple task that I've always been able to do)This jar opener works very well. The handle is long enough to give me good leverage and there are two different rows of teeth that can grip a large variety of lid sizes. I got the transparent version so it's easy to see when the lid is lined up properly, making it simple to use.You should be aware that the teeth are sharp. They're not positioned to be particularly dangerous, but if you rub your fingers on them it will hurt.I should also mention that the product description says that this jar opener is NOT dishwasher safe, which isn't a deal breaker for me, but it is a bit of a design flaw as far as I'm concerned.Overall, I think it's a good product.

Requires Some Strength For Tight Seals, But Works Well...
Lately, it seems that everything I try to open by myself is nearly impossible. This jar opener has definitely been making my life easier! I tried it on various different sizes of jars and found it to work well. That being said, if the jar is tightly sealed, then there is some definite strength required in order to turn it, but the leverage is different because you are turning it by the handle and not trying to wrap you hand around the jar, making it much easier to open.

Open those stubborn jars.
We cook a lot, and sometimes you run across a jar that won't open or your hands are oily and you can't get a good grip on the jar to pop the lid. The Uinxan jar opener gives you a positive grip on almost all sizes of jars you find at your supermarket and gives you a mechanical advantage in opening even the most tightly sealed ones.Just put the jar lid into the Y shaped tines and the serrated fingers will bite into it and open it with ease. The opener design accommodates the smallest to largest sizes. This is one tool that should be in every kitchen's utility drawer.

Handles many jar sizes with 2 tier design ; sharp teeth
This is the second jar opener I've owned. I gave away my previous one and wanted to try this design. It works well but your jar may protrude out more than you expect. Above is a standard small mouth mason jar. I did find I had to be careful getting it in so it didn't slip out. I think this may because the track is not as deep as my other one.The teeth are very sharp. The downside is that if you use plastic lids, the teeth can leave burs where they gripped the plastic.
