All of our covers are made of multi-layer padding, including a foam layer and felt layer. The covers go through a process to adhere the layers together so that they don't create any waves or wrinkles on the ironing surface. The Metal Silicone coating are layered on thick and correctly to perform, withstand the heat and last. With the right ironing board cover you achieve better results, more efficiently. This cover obtains a 3 layer, one-piece construction. Meaning all three layers are adhered together flawlessly providing a crease-free surface. The construction is made up of; 1) TOP LAYER - Metallic-Coated Scorch Resistant Textile, for premium heat-retention & heat-reflection, 2) Middle Layer - Foam padding, allowing for the moisture to pass through with ease, 3) Bottom Layer - Felt padding, creating the comfort needed for the iron to glide over garments easily & dissipating the extra moisture. Most other covers don't utilize the middle foam layer to avoid the extra expense. However, it's a vital ingredient for proper wicking of moisture & allowing for the hot iron to move more rapidly on the surface. Containing the heat while wicking the moisture will also allow your garments to move with less friction across the board surface.
