Bought 2 now for friends and they loved them - they smell beautiful too!

I had to buy a colleague a birthday present and this was perfect. She loves candles and as it has her actual date on the jar she was so happy. Obviously I am not sure how it smells when lit but it certainly smelt nice when she opened it. If you are struggling for a quality gift, for birthday or Christmas this would be an ideal, it wasn’t too expensive.

Lets be honest, high streets are changing. 5 years ago if i wanted to purchase a quality candle there were several shops I could go to and satiate my sniffing needs. Nowadays those same shops either sell vapes or 7 of the same useless item for £1. Even my annual excursion to read the sentiments on Mothers day cards has been replaced with a google search as most higher class card shops have closed. Previously my 'go to' brand for candle related gifts was a Yankee inspired brand. No other candle seemed to hold its end up when it came to simple scent dispersal. Cheaper versions simply do not cut it. However, the deciding factor when buying any candle is exactly that - what does it smell like? And since it is harder and harder to find shops that sell quality candles (certainly in smaller towns like mine), I have resorted to the risky gamble of online candles, and PWS (purchasing without sniffing). Due to the new found potential that the candle may not smell as i would like, I look for other unique selling points, and came across this product. A staple for my mothers birthday is always a quality candle. She will unwrap it, sniff it and say 'that's lovely'. I would say this candle is around the same size as the medium Yankee style for around the same price, so why go for this one? The main difference is that this is a far more thoughtful gift. It is personalized not only with the recipients date of birth and star sign but also several astrological characteristics relating to the person. I must say, whilst I don't entirely believe that the day you were born somehow impacts the type of person you become, I was reading around this candle and nodding my head at how the vague statements did in fact sum up my dear old mum. In terms of presentation, the packaging that this candle arrives in is totally gift worthy. The cardboard is thick and the print quality is excellent. Inside, there is a layer of foam to keep you candle safe from damage and it really does feel like a luxury item. But, Ultimately how does it smell? My mum made it quite clear she could never light such a thoughtful and personalized gift, but then she says that about every box of chocolates I've ever bought her and they always end up being devoured after a week. As such, i cannot comment on how the scent lasts or fills a room, but the aroma from the candle unlit was very prominent and certainly smelled like it would be a lovely scent. All in all, when comparting the value of the item against the giftability, scent and personalized thoughtfulness of the candle, i would say that this is a solid purchase and you can see where the money has gone.
